i don't have an mod folder what should i do if i want to download mods?

i was trying to download mods and i didnt have an mod folder. i have looked on many yt videos and turturials how to get mods but there is nothing about how to get an mod folder so i was wondering if someone can help me or have the same issue. pls help me 🙂
