I Don't Know What I'm Doing on Origin In-Game

I have the overlay for In-Game on show, but I can't figure out how to chat with people. Is there a hotkey I need to use?

    To chat in game to people playing press enter once or u and start typing. To chat to a friend in orgin, open the over lay and click on the friend you want to talk to

    To access all the original features, including your chats, while in game... It's shift + F1. By default anyway.
