They can leave it without nerfing, but then vehicles should be much cheaper, maybe same as in BF2 original, not as a class. Ion torpido can just one shot ATST in the weak spot, which would be alright, if it did not basically destroy it in 2 seconds in any other spot hit.
I think the 3 torpedo should stay as is. I use it all the time on maps that I know will have armour, turrets and starfighters. What I have noticed after regular usage of the torp is that players are getting smarter making it harder to get the lock on target. ATST's are not standing still blasting away as they were before. They are using their surrounds as shields restricting your lock on time. You may get a lock on the 1st or 2nd torp but the killer shot is harder to get. I have been eliminated many times before I can get the 3rd torp away. Starfighters are now deviating from their attack run flying behind objects giving themselves more time to repair or they outrun the torpedo. Speeders (except for Crait & Starkiller Base) etc were always a 1 torp kill so nothing has changed with these except you can take out multiple speeders without having to wait for a recharge. One issue I have with this weapon is that it won't lock on to D-9 turrets on Hoth.
Has anyone posted about nerfing the Ion Grenade? One can take out an AT-ST if thrown accurately . Bit hard though to throw one at a starfighter (lol).

I always play the ATST smart, using surroundings to cover. However, the ion torpedo is now something like explosive shot was with heavy, complete abuse for points. And starfighters are additionally weak to sniper fire. Keeping the torpedoes OP is just not okey. Take Crait for example. The speeder can melt ATST in one run, easy. You have four speeders. And bunch of turrets from heavies. Keeping your ATST alive is hard job. And now throw in the ion torpedo and your ATST is down in seconds from spawning. That is not something that should be left this powerful. If they add a flares ability to vehicles, then maybe it can be left the way it is. In the first BF, the torpedo was quite good. You actually had to position yourself to fire it multiple times. The same is with grenade. Both should require a little more skill, rather than easy kill.

I have to agree with @Rogue_Manda_YT.
I don't necessarily think that the damage output needs changing just the ease with which you can lock on or decrease lock on distance or both. Atm the ion torpedoes require no skill whatsoever and can be used to stack BP from the back of the maps. Heavy is my trooper of choice and I generally nowadays always tend to have the ion torpedoes equipped because they are so OP and you never know when your going to need them.
I always feel weird about melting down an AT-ST by myself. Everytime I do I get two thoughts: I feel bad for the person who just spent a lot BP to be on the map for two seconds to get melted by one trooper, and I also think wow look at how many BP's I just got, these things are OP I better keep taking advantage before they get nerfed.
They have completely changed the way a lot of GA's play in that vehicles have become redundant for the most part and not worth spending your BP on. This gets to the point that in some games(Crait mostly) you'll find no vehicles on the map at all because everytime they spawn they get annihilated in seconds. I would therefore hope to see a nerf or some sort of balancing with the ion torpedoes.
Although not the topic I would like to also mention whilst talking about nerfs, that the officer BP hoarding abilities needs sorting, irritating having to compete with officers who in some cases have a very small contribution to the actual completing of the objectives. Just camp out next to a turret buffing people in actuality helping no one. Then they get a hero/villain before anyone else and do pretty much the same thing. Don't go for or protect the objective just camp out somewhere at the back of the map ruining everyone's chances of actually winning the match(when I managed to get a game yesterday this happened quite frequently so had to get this rant out).

And the BlastRadius is 8m. Very large. Sometimes, we were involved in this blast when we walked nearby some vehicles/turrets. 🤒
