I always play the ATST smart, using surroundings to cover. However, the ion torpedo is now something like explosive shot was with heavy, complete abuse for points. And starfighters are additionally weak to sniper fire. Keeping the torpedoes OP is just not okey. Take Crait for example. The speeder can melt ATST in one run, easy. You have four speeders. And bunch of turrets from heavies. Keeping your ATST alive is hard job. And now throw in the ion torpedo and your ATST is down in seconds from spawning. That is not something that should be left this powerful. If they add a flares ability to vehicles, then maybe it can be left the way it is. In the first BF, the torpedo was quite good. You actually had to position yourself to fire it multiple times. The same is with grenade. Both should require a little more skill, rather than easy kill.
I have to agree with @Rogue_Manda_YT.
I don't necessarily think that the damage output needs changing just the ease with which you can lock on or decrease lock on distance or both. Atm the ion torpedoes require no skill whatsoever and can be used to stack BP from the back of the maps. Heavy is my trooper of choice and I generally nowadays always tend to have the ion torpedoes equipped because they are so OP and you never know when your going to need them.
I always feel weird about melting down an AT-ST by myself. Everytime I do I get two thoughts: I feel bad for the person who just spent a lot BP to be on the map for two seconds to get melted by one trooper, and I also think wow look at how many BP's I just got, these things are OP I better keep taking advantage before they get nerfed.
They have completely changed the way a lot of GA's play in that vehicles have become redundant for the most part and not worth spending your BP on. This gets to the point that in some games(Crait mostly) you'll find no vehicles on the map at all because everytime they spawn they get annihilated in seconds. I would therefore hope to see a nerf or some sort of balancing with the ion torpedoes.
Although not the topic I would like to also mention whilst talking about nerfs, that the officer BP hoarding abilities needs sorting, irritating having to compete with officers who in some cases have a very small contribution to the actual completing of the objectives. Just camp out next to a turret buffing people in actuality helping no one. Then they get a hero/villain before anyone else and do pretty much the same thing. Don't go for or protect the objective just camp out somewhere at the back of the map ruining everyone's chances of actually winning the match(when I managed to get a game yesterday this happened quite frequently so had to get this rant out).

And the BlastRadius is 8m. Very large. Sometimes, we were involved in this blast when we walked nearby some vehicles/turrets. 🤒

Officers collecting points by battle commands without contribution is indeed annoying

@Tinogiggedy- I too favour the heavy trooper and always carry the ion torpedo. I still use armour even though I know that I will probably get as you say melted reasonably quickly. I have found new tactics to avoid the instant kill such as staying near larger machinery because the torpedo will always divert to the larger target.
As for the officer campers, I agree with you but isn't that what officers do? Sit back, send in their minions to do the dirty work and then take the credit. The best way to combat these players is to keep using your Torpedoes to take out their turrets( and them in the process) they soon change their tactics. 60% of the time, my torp takes out an opponent this way.

@ggibb65 I was ranting about officers hoarding BP on the same team as me lol, I don't think ion torpedoes are so op they ignore friendly fire being off. Camping officers buff me, I get kills they get points. They buff others, they get kills, the officer gets points. Actual contribution to the objective practically nothing other than giving me a buff I didn't need.
You have no choice but to hide behind stuff in armour that's if you even make it behind something now you have the op ion torpedoes. Even before the buff, if you faced a good team you would always have to be tactical with the vehicles because they aren't that hard to destroy, nowadays you don't need to be against a good team, just one trooper will do it, in a matter of seconds. I'm of the feeling that armour should be able to lead the line when attacking, I don't necessarily mean going on a kamikaze run with no tactics but atm they can't even take on one heavy trooper. On tattoine in one game yesterday I managed to wipe out 6 AT-ST's in the first round, I think I was the only heavy with ion torpedoes on my team. Their team struggling to push forward anyway were turning to AT-ST's for help. Standing on the roofs you can pick them off before they even make it on to the map. So that occupied all of one trooper for a few seconds, some help spending those BPs was. It's changed the way the game plays and imo its not better than it was prior to the buff. I mean one heavy dropping 6 AT-STs in one round seems a little ott.

I think most of officers are doing a great job supporting and getting points. Only thing that should be added is for other troopers to gain BP boost while under influence of BC.
