@Tinogiggedy- I too favour the heavy trooper and always carry the ion torpedo. I still use armour even though I know that I will probably get as you say melted reasonably quickly. I have found new tactics to avoid the instant kill such as staying near larger machinery because the torpedo will always divert to the larger target.
As for the officer campers, I agree with you but isn't that what officers do? Sit back, send in their minions to do the dirty work and then take the credit. The best way to combat these players is to keep using your Torpedoes to take out their turrets( and them in the process) they soon change their tactics. 60% of the time, my torp takes out an opponent this way.
@ggibb65 I was ranting about officers hoarding BP on the same team as me lol, I don't think ion torpedoes are so op they ignore friendly fire being off. Camping officers buff me, I get kills they get points. They buff others, they get kills, the officer gets points. Actual contribution to the objective practically nothing other than giving me a buff I didn't need.
You have no choice but to hide behind stuff in armour that's if you even make it behind something now you have the op ion torpedoes. Even before the buff, if you faced a good team you would always have to be tactical with the vehicles because they aren't that hard to destroy, nowadays you don't need to be against a good team, just one trooper will do it, in a matter of seconds. I'm of the feeling that armour should be able to lead the line when attacking, I don't necessarily mean going on a kamikaze run with no tactics but atm they can't even take on one heavy trooper. On tattoine in one game yesterday I managed to wipe out 6 AT-ST's in the first round, I think I was the only heavy with ion torpedoes on my team. Their team struggling to push forward anyway were turning to AT-ST's for help. Standing on the roofs you can pick them off before they even make it on to the map. So that occupied all of one trooper for a few seconds, some help spending those BPs was. It's changed the way the game plays and imo its not better than it was prior to the buff. I mean one heavy dropping 6 AT-STs in one round seems a little ott.

I think most of officers are doing a great job supporting and getting points. Only thing that should be added is for other troopers to gain BP boost while under influence of BC.

@Rogue_Manda_YT that might work.👍

Officers/Players with certain cards using the battle command give over a hundred health a to group, very effective in a objective push,(takadona for example), also the ability to speed up health regen for those around him.
Great support, but also capable in one on one situations in the right hands. Points maybe should be nerfed, but I don't want to cheat a player whoose an officer and saves players from the brink of death with hiss battle command to take an objective

I take your points on officers - I'm going to hide in the naughty corner.

@Tinogiggedy- Yeah - sounds too easy. The original reason for buffing the torpedo was to give the ground troops better defence against starfighters. If you start mucking around with locking times and distances, wouldn't that negate the original purpose? Maybe a better idea would be to reduce the qty to from 3 to 2. That would definitely give time for the AT-ST to repair or escape. It also would be enough for the heavy to take it out if he can get behind the unit or if it already damaged..

@ggibb65 lol and people think it's easy to just balance a game. It's true enough that it was needed to combat star fighters etc from the ground. Maybe they can have the torpedoes do the same damage to aerial vehicles and nerf it against ground vehicles perhaps not doing so much damage but reducing the vehicles damage resistance for an amount of time after impact.
@raidernaphtali agreed officers are an integral part the game and when you get a good team and the officers are getting stuck in, those buffs come in handy and I'd say in many cases the points on the board well deserved. However in my experience I find so many games where officers are hanging back not moving in on the objective buffing everyone running past not helping to secure the objective just sitting hiding and hoarding BP. Hopefully the new system they are looking to bring in will address this and they'll nerf the gaining of points to the level of other troops. The levels of the buffs imo are fine, but BP definitely needs nerfing. The lack of balance is highlighted by the fact that in GA its now become a regular occurance that teams start with more officers than the troopers they lead.

ATST can be one shotted into a weak spot with Ion torpedo.

@Tinogiggedy Starfighters are super weak against sniper rifles.

@Rogue_Manda_YTI hear ya but if you get a good team in the fighters they end up dominating a game, snipers won't do it. I want to see torpedoes nerfed but not to the point they become useless again(im very fussy).

@Tinogiggedy Indeed, they should play critical role and give heavy trooper the HEAVY power. But still vehicles should keep at least a certain advantage over infantry. And it should be infantry that needs to maneuver more, not vehicles. Vehicles are slow, sloppy and they should withstand a punch. Starfighters are fast, bud get a turbulence effect with every hit. I would love the starfighters to have a GA version, that would give them flairs...

@Rogue_Manda_YT @Tinogiggedy - played last night where the teams were so unbalanced that the Ion torpedo was almost useless. By the time I got my first shot away, I was eliminated by players from behind, side or 2 AT-ST's working in tandem. Shows that the skills/tactics of the opposition are also a factor. We have talked about Team balancing on another thread but I would like to say here that last night was the worst I have seen it for a while. It was so bad some players were quitting mid game leaving the weaker team with only enough players to complete the game (which by the way was over - due to one team having the max heroes - before the first objective was achieved).
