Time we play is *usually* somewhere between 10pm and 1am Pacific Standard Time. Usually people are there every day. We've occasionally played earlier in the day, but I can't say I've paid attention to if things are better or worse at a different time.
Some of the squads members I play with are AceWingCore and Phantom Squad members. I also play under Phantom_Alliecat sometimes. It's often not a formal squad, just whoever is friends of friends gets invited to someone's party and we play. Sometimes we have events. This past weekend, we cancelled a hero starfighters event because no one could get into a game of that earlier in the day. Sometimes there are just 3 of us, more often we have parties of 6-8 people.
I ping off of Oregon, but my squad is from all over. I'm in Canada, a bunch of them are playing in various US states, there's a regular from Finland, a couple from Great Britain, Australia, New Zealand. I'll ask next time we play what ping sites they use, I know one person once mentioned they use Virginia. I don't really know how that works on the technical end. I don't know if the "kick outs" are from particular places, but it has happened to me; I'll ask around. When these matchmaking bugs occur, it usually happens to a few of us at the same time. Dialog is like: "Hey, where'd you guys go?' "I dunno, I just got kicked to the menus." "Me too!" "Yeah me too, this happened to me a few times today." We are still connected in the PS4 party, and able to speak to each other, but some of us got kicked out of the match. We often can't rejoin the game we were kicked from, so everyone leaves and we start a new game together.
It has crossed my mind that what if two groups are being matched together on the same of a SA game? So if two parties of 8 are being put together on a team with a max of 12, what happens to the extra 4 people? I don't know how your matchmaking treats multiplayer groups differently from individuals. Maybe that is not a useful question, but it crossed my mind.
FYI, I don't appear to be having any internet connectivity issues. We have very consistent high-speed internet here. My PS4 is hardwired to the internet. As I said, when we get kicked from the matches, we are still connected with no interruption to each other in the party.
I don't remember if it was Saturday or Sunday night where we had the weird bug that we were being pulled into games that we didn't click on to join. I'm not sure I've explained that well. Happened to at least 2 of us, I saw it twice. Here's what I saw from my end:
- Matchmaking started (always says something like "Alliecat started search for matchmaking" or whatever that message is, and ALL players in the group get the same message, but each player sees their own name in the message, even though none of us clicked anything)
- New map starts to load
- Battlefront cover loading screen appears as I am kicked off the new map
- I'm in menus (squad notices I am not in the game, but we can still hear each other)
- I'm wondering what to do, then all of a sudden, a new map starts to load, but I wasn't anywhere near selecting anything to join
- The new map loads, and I am in a new game. Once I was put into an empty lobby, just me and the crickets waiting for more players, and the other time I was put into a random game with other players I didn't know, away from my squad.
Hope this is helpful!
