Long load times on PC

So I have scoured the internet at this point looking for ANY possible fix to the game taking a really long time to load and have come up completely empty.

I have the game installed on an M.2 SSD and it still takes 2 to 3 minutes to load the main menu. I launch the game the same time as my friends and they are all already loaded into a game killing people well before I even see the EA logo. Then if I do wait long enough to be able to play, I load so slowly that I don't even get put into a squad with my party. It will be 3 of them and a random, while when I make it in it is me +3 randoms.

I have seen no official responses to this issue outside of a Community Manager telling somebody to get an SSD. I have seen threads talking about this issue as far back as 2017. Is this really just an unsolvable issue? I pretty much refuse to play until I can get this fixed.

Can't even back out to the main menu mid match in a short amount of time.

  • I seemed to have solved this issue by ticking the "run as administrator" box in compatibility settings for the exe of the game. Dunno if it helped, but I also added exclusions in Windows Security for the game folder and exe itself. I don't have another antivirus software so it defaults  to Windows Security.

  • @armedpoop I agree... this issue seems to have been around for a long time. There has to be something wrong that the engineers should have fixed. The problem doesn't seem to be uncommon either.
  • The lack of official responses to the many threads, young and old, about this issue is irksome.

  • @armedpoop lol because I first had to install to the secondary hdd and that was totally unbearable. I have 0 friends playing swbf2 so I cannot say anything about that but when I moved to the main SSD things literally get accelerated. Also I cannot play without crashing in the SP modes with a chance of 50/50.
  • @armedpoop Not sure what your issue exactly, but I also had extremely long load times... now, things load extremely quickly. All I did was updated my Nvidia drivers with the Geforce experience... although I suspect the issue may be the game needs to install itself -- or something along the lines of organizing files for early uses? I'm not sure. But I went from having painfully long load times, to less than 5 seconds. Truly odd, since some people said "rolling back drivers fixed for them", whereas, I updated my drivers, and it fixed.
  • @jovack My drivers stay updated as soon as they are available to be, definitely not a driver issue for me.

@armedpoop Having a SSD myself, long loading times are definitely a pretty major hassle and out of the ordinary when you're just trying to get in-game with some friends.

The cause for that can vary from case to case, thanks for the update on what fixed it for you here!
