Loses Xbox One Controller on PC

I am using a wireless Xbox One controller with an official Xbox One wireless adapter on PC.

If I do not start Battlefront II with the controller on, it will not detect it later. If my controller powers off during the game -- I will also lose it in Battlefront II requiring a restart of the game.

It drives me crazy because I literally use both (mouse and keyboard for FPS) and keep losing the controller when I want to pilot a vehicle.
