Playing the previous mission sequence and letting it roll directly into the Luke at Pillio mission resulted in no glitch (essentially, it was like encountering the mission for the first time) - we could play through and complete the mission (assuming you don't die). So, the glitch still exists, but it seems this is a temporary work around that might help others stuck in the situation. Hope it helps.
So players are able to get past this point in the campaign, however the final fix must be provided by the studio.

I just bought this game and played the campaign today and am stuck on the same level. Hurry up and fix this glitch!! People pay money for this and this is the end result. The studio needs to hustle or face the same issue over and over again. It isn't right to do this to customers and fans of star wars
