That episode to me was the best out of all of them
Finally showing why Boba Fett was the most feared bounty hunter in the galaxy
- 5 years ago@ToddyRocket1 I agree. It was great to see him validated, although Clone Wars gave him some great action sequences as well. See the Episode "Bounty" in Season 4. But that's before the armor, and an episode like this was definitely needed.
Apparently people on Reddit have translated much of what Boba Fett showed Din Djarin. Among the words are Concord Dawn and Jastor (likely Jastor Mereel from Legends). Basically, in Legends material Jango's family lived on Concord Dawn and was killed. Jastor took him in. So maybe they are adapting that into canon with Jastor Mereel being the one who adapts Jango as a foundling. And maybe Jango will either be from Concord Dawn, or that's where he was raised as a foundling. - 5 years ago@UNL1M1T3D_P0W3R Will do, sir.
- 5 years ago@UNL1M1T3D_P0W3R He made the thread, so I think he should get a pass...and besides...I kind of agree with him. I didn't have as much of a problem with Mayfield or Ranzar Malk, but I didn't care for the Twi'lek's at all. Clancy Brown's character was ok.
It will be fun to see how Mayfield reacts here though, especially to Boba Fett and Fennec Shand. He's almost certain to know of them. My guess is he would be less likely to give them attitude lol. - 5 years ago@ArchAngeL-PCX
I'm close then
I'm currently at season 3 episode 10
I'm watching it before the Mandalorian starts and after it - 5 years ago@ArchAngeL-PCX The fact that Din doesn't recognize him is just wrong.
Considering he's a bounty hunter you think he would have heard of the best there is plus he claims hes spent a lot of time on Tatooine plus im sure people would have brought it up when seeing that he is a mandalorian at some point. (I know Boba Fetts not mandalorian but the hypothetical random civillians don't) - 5 years ago
- 5 years ago@ToddyRocket1 Nice! Clone Wars is some awesome Star Wars no fan should skip out on. Looking at the episode list, you are right at the cusp of some outstanding episodes that kick off maybe the best thread of the whole series. Overall, I'd say mid-season 3 is when the show really took things to another level from a story telling perspective.

@SwellingFoil266Could be. It may depend on how old Din actually is and where he was operating. The group he belonged to seemed to be very isolated, and I don't think he cares about the profession itself. I think it's just him doing whatever he can to support the covert. He also didn't recognize Bo Katan, who ruled Mandalore and was a central figure on Mandalore up through "the purge".

Could be a few possible reasons why Din doesn't seem to acknowledge Boba/was a famous bounty hunter/ At all-The Guild could be in decline and information about it's previous activity might be limited / covered up / censored for whatever reasons. ((Likely fallen out of (galactic)political favor to some extent.))
This means Din (among other hunters of their time) wouldn't have access to the information regarding some of the greatest bounty hunters... It's less personal - it's just a circumstance of decreasing activity. It seems unlikely any old civilian would know about ' 'famous bounty hunters' ' more likely people who have reason to use and /or fear bounty hunters would know about Boba. Considering Bobas' age, those who knew of him could have likely died during the various wars.
-Information about specific individual/s might be inaccurate / slander, in order to incarcerate them and those who claim to know of them.
Hutt Clans, The Empire, ' 'Mandalorian/s' ', and/or War Lords, might have reason to imprison Boba (for failing // other reasons), possibly causing them to smear his image through bribery, and cause 'Bobes to go into (further) hiding. This kind of cover up would mean that only people who knew about Boba could tell you about him - at the risk of upsetting larger than life big heads and getting into some hot water themselves . . . Just for talking about / mentioning Boba.-Boba was only a popular bounty hunter from a specific sector which excluded infamy on Tatooine among the outer rim - he was only there by order of his employers.(In a specific order pertaining to the galaxies' time frame; in the episode The Box, from the Clone Wars we see a bunch of different bounty hunters with high reputations for one thing or another, gathering in one location. Then later, we see a group of bounty hunters being hired by the Empire, among them are Bossk, Ig-88, Dengar, Boba Fett, Zuckuss and 4-lom. It could be that those characters were the best / most reputable hunters of their sectors... ? I was under the impression that these hunters were galaxywide famous but that might not have been the case in new canon. Boba might have been more popular in the Inner Rim where he'd once been delivered to a creepy king dude in a botched Bounty hunting mission ;p ??? )-Din doesn't bother reading/comparing/learning about the best hunters // other hunters // Doesn't remember which trash compared him to what & when.
He could be so focused on his personal task/s, he doesn't get caught up in who is doing what, and who did what when. If info doesn't pertain to his next targets it could be considered nonessential. Din seems to receive information from his armorer and those in higher positions in contrast to himself. He might not be the sort to look beyond what he's told to do - which aligns with him eventually leaving his cult due to personal growth. Learning about Boba might expand Dins horizons, in a way.Din previously didn't even know what a Jediwas?
-Boba's reputation vanished with him.
He lost relevancy when he stopped showing up. People forgot about him. He stopped hunting due to some personal circumstances which might be explored in his personal show. - 5 years ago
- 5 years ago@Dvveebo I think your last two points could both be the case. Mando doesn't seem to aspire to be a bounty hunter. He's just being the best he can be at what he's doing in the moment. We haven't seen him pick up a bounty since he's been quested to find Grogu's home. Fett did drop off the radar for a long time too.

@ToddyRocket1
Regardless of if it's actually poodoo or not, our little MandoMushroom is growing from it - kept in the dark.
Seemingly, no wool is needed over his eyes... That helmet & it's cultist ties are a better filter to keep him DIMN...
@ArchAngeL-PCX
Yeah, it seems as though Din Djarin's primary motivation for bounty hunting was solely to earn Beskar to supply his Foragemaster with . . . In order to pimp himself out, focusing on fitting into his creed. Trying to earn the respect of his adoptive family - I think that's actually a common theme in stories regarding characters who grew up among families they weren't born into... They strive to do their best in everything because they probably feel guilty / burdensome? Maybe? It does seem to be a reoccurring depiction for characters with those histories, in any case...
-------------------------------------
Oh, I forgot to mention in my random thoughts;
THE FACT THAT THE EMPIRE JUST HAPPANED TO HAVE TINY HANDCUFFS!!! LMAO.
As if Grogu even needs to be shackled. You don't need your hands to use the force. It's just too comical.
(I believe I now love Moff Gideon. He's so amusing.) - 5 years ago

Rangers of the new republic will probably tie into The Mandalorian? Since Cara became a marshal of the New Republic, it seems to indicate we might see cameos canonically tie the two shows together.
I was under the impression Boba would be getting his own spinoff?
But the list already looks like a portion large enough to keep me entertained without him, if that turns out to be the case.
Plenty of different online news/journal outlets are covering the potential new shows, but it seems there's a bit more digging to do when it comes to finding out what's going on with future Star Wars games.
Considering cancelation happens, & companies seem to be enjoying shooting themselves in the feet simply to flip-off audiences occasionally, I'd take any future potential Star Wars news with a dump truck of salt. // Which is to say; I'll be heavily skeptical about what to expect based on presentations of what's to come. - 5 years ago
I enjoyed that episode as well

The noise of the seismic charge
Loved it
- 5 years ago
So.....mandlore was destroyed by operation: cinder?
thats what i got at least - 5 years ago@SwellingFoil266 No I don't think it was destroyed in Operation: Cinder. While speaking with Bo Katan, Din talked about Mandalore being poisoned. They haven't said what "the purge" actually was, but Bo Katan said she fought in it. That seems to infer a campaign or more traditional conflict. I guess it could be their own name for what Operation Cinder was, but it didn't sound like it to me.
- 5 years ago@Dvveebo I think they said Rangers of the New Republic, Ahsoka, and Mandalorian will build towards some huge crossover story involving all three casts. Maybe Thrawn and Ezra Bridger?
Ahsoka will almost certainly center around her search for Thrawn and Ezra. I badly want to see her meet up with Luke Skywalker in this show. That's got to be inevitable now as much as her face off with Vader was inevitable in Rebels. It would be such a cool closure moment for both...Ahsoka to share about the Anakin and Padme she knew, and Luke to share how Anakin turned back to the light and helped take down the Emperor.
I wonder if Rangers will be centered around Navarro starring Grief Carga and Cara Dune. I think it's possible Boba Fett, Fennec Shand, and Mayfield end up in this show as well.
Then Mandalorian likely will shift to focus more on Mandalore, "the Watch", Bo Katan, etc.
