@DvveeboAt first I was thinking the same as you in regards to the ST, but I'm not so sure anymore. The now "Legends" material was likely to get thrust aside one way or the other even if Lucas did the ST. He never considered books hard canon. Anyone that wanted to do post ROTJ content would have a real problem working it in with the Legends books.
So what happens if they keep building post ROTJ content from here and get an entire universe going that fans are major attached to? What if at the same time they do nothing much in the ST era to reinforce any fandom there?
Do they shift everything to line up with the ST, even if it means trashing current fan favorites, storylines, and other things? I'm not so sure the answer is yes anymore. @ToddyRocket1 may have just thrown down the best early prediction in SW history. lol

I wasn't talking about only the Legends material. I said; [...] "scraping a bunch of history from Star Wars."
Disney specifically didn't even use G.L's notes nor ideas which he left with them as potential things to work with.
& I pointed out that new material such as Disney's Mandalorian censors Twi's without their original ears which were not Legends' material.
No one has to trash anything. You don't need one or the other when you can have them all. E.G. If you don't like [Ahsoka] - Don't watch her show. Simple as that. Should she have her show canceled because you and 500 others don't like her? No. It's the same thing for any [character] and their Era/show. Disney could have done a lot better at making inclusive decisions. But it's currently doing better than it previously was.
You don't have to trash fan favorites, designs, and story-lines to ""match up to the ST"" when you can literally make up fractured dimensions that allow fans to enjoy something they want to regardless of if it's ""canon"" or not. Rey doing that whole mirror thing, Ezra visiting that Force Machine thing in space, there are materials there to work with to imply that multiple versions of stories could exist. Even just areas that are strong with the Force, such as the cave where Luke faced a version of himself dressed as Darth Vader - such locations could be vessels into mini dimensions/stories - or perceived mini/alternate dimensions. (Pretty sure even the Clone Wars could have used some Night Sister/JarJar voodoo to space-magic-up-some AUs too... Or you know the Mortis Gods that Anakin rejected could have this potential. )

@DvveeboYeah they could do that. That's basically what I'm saying. I think if it came to that, they would push the ST out of canon or otherwise diverge the timeline somehow. I didn't realize you were talking about George Lucas' ideas as well. They did literally trash that. By "trash" I was referring to forcing out of canon or otherwise halting story momentum to lineup with the ST.
Alternatively, they could deliberately just never get near the ST timeline. Lucasfilm has spent almost the past 20 years telling stories set between Attack of the Clones and A New Hope. They could treat the timeline between ROTJ and TFA the same way for another 2 or 3 decades lol.
Or as they get to the ST timeframe they could shift focus to areas of the galaxy the ST never showed us like Mandalore or Chiss space... - ArchAngeL-PCX5 years agoNot applicable@Dvveebo My own personal feeling about the ST is that they shouldn't just leave it to fester there. I think that would be a drastic mistake.
Like it or not, it's episodes 7-9. That won't change, and there are a lot of fans of the new characters. I think they need to do the rumored "JJ Abrams cut" for Disney+ and follow that up with some new series with the current cast. Maybe a combination of live action and animation with Daisey Ridley, Jon Boyega, Oscar Isaac and the rest of the cast reprising their roles. Some great stories setting up Star Wars post Skywalker Saga could smooth over things the way Clone Wars did for the Prequel Trilogy. - Dvveebo5 years agoNot applicable
@ArchAngeL-PCX wrote:Some cool news recently. Jon Favreau was on Good Morning America or one of the morning shows anyway. He was talking about Book of Boba Fett:
- It is a new series separate from Mandalorian Season 3
- Temuera Morrison will continue as Boba Fett
- Ming-Na Wen will also star as Fennec Shand
- Robert Rodriguez will be executive producer
- Mandalorian Season 3 will begin filming after Book of Boba Fett is competed, so I'm guessing it might not arrive until early 2022. He didn't say when Mando Season 3 will air. Maybe the schedule is such they might air them both at the same time.
I also saw a headline that said Ming-Na Wen will voice Fennec Shand in the Bad Batch series.

Some great stories setting up Star Wars post Skywalker Saga could smooth over things the way Clone Wars did for the Prequel Trilogy. In that interview J.F says [...] "That is right after the Return of the Jedi, which was a film, of course, we all grew up with." //(OT)
Boba will be getting his own show & the original Boba isn't around to see it... //(OT)
We can actively see that people who grow up with something become very emotionally attached to such things. //(All eras)
I'm observing people who are saying things like "It's about time!" and so on regarding their favorite characters, I get that feeling too... // (Within both OT & PT)
But at the same time I'm watching a part of (New) Star Wars get pushed away due to unpopularity... The same thing I grew up with when my favorite Star Wars was E1.
People are so quick to tear down something new and foreign to them. I'll never forget how people made me feel for liking PT as a kid. (In turn, it made me say things like; "I hate Star Wars, I prefer Star Trek - It's much more highbrow." Even though I secretly loved both. ) // (PT)
My worry is that ST fans are going to have to endure the same process, to wait until their favorite characters' actors/actresses are dead before they get any new stories, I guess.'Kinda thought the whole point of everything was to do better than previously - by pushing the ST off to the side & letting it rot there's no improvement in that aspect. (ST)

I couldn't stand it in SWBF when it seemed like one era or one style of gameplay was being left out in the cold in favor of other crowds getting a surplus of stuff. So any time I could, I cast my vote for content that made sense. The problem for me was that some groups weren't going to have their modes/eras expanded on. (This is why I think each era needs their own game.)
Sure it's a heavy work load, but if a lot of the code is going to be similar to one another/for Frostbite why can't we just have A.I do most of the repetitive coding - if that's not already the case?
The Master Fold A.I has already shown that if you give them a specific task, they can out preform humans. - ArchAngeL-PCX5 years agoNot applicable@Dvveebo I agree with everything you said. I grew up with OT, but I never was into PT hate. Ep1 took some getting used to, but by the time it came out on DVD, I had come the realization that we may never get another trilogy like the OT. And of course PT is a different time period and dynamic in the SW universe. I was able to enjoy it for what it was...some good SW expanding the lore. By the time Ep2 arrived, I was in full hype mode...saw it twice in the theater within the first couple of weeks. And Clone Wars I was on board for day 1!!!
I don't think they will leave ST where it's at. There's a lot of rumors that the "JJ cut" is happening. That could give an instant boost to ST right there. But a Disney+ animated series like Clone Wars to flesh out the lore and galaxy post-ST is badly needed. They cast young actors mostly, so they need to take advantage of that. The last thing they need to do is pretend this will go away and SW fans will forget lol.
As for Battlefront games, multiple eras would work. They just can't have another disaster launch that takes a year to fix. I'm betting if this game launched well, we would have had the Clone Wars content much earlier, and then some Rogue One content before Rise of Skywalker. Then 2020 would see Mandalorian content for OT and Mandalore added for PT and OT (Clone Wars and Rebels content)...plus Ahsoka, Ventress, Poe Dameron, Hux, Mace Windu, Jango Fett, Padme, and the rest of the most requested heroes. - soapy_catuses5 years agoNot applicable
Im kinda late on this but in the episode where luke goes ham on those imperial droids Does anyone know like the model of them or something?
- ArchAngeL-PCX5 years agoNot applicable@soapy_catuses Dr. Pershing refers to them as 3rd generation Dark Troopers. Seems like they are the first Dark Troopers to be droids.
- soapy_catuses5 years agoNot applicable@ArchAngeL-PCX hm wait am minute am I crazy or aren't dark troopers only legends or am I messing them up with shadow troopers
- SwellingFoil2665 years agoNot applicable@soapy_catuses They WERE only legends.
(Well actually they appeared in a mobile game thats technically canon but that was a while back.) - ArchAngeL-PCX5 years agoNot applicable@SwellingFoil266 Indeed. They are the latest item Lucasfilm has brought back into canon. I'm convinced it's only a matter of time before Mara Jade shows up.
- soapy_catuses5 years agoNot applicable
On the topic of Mara Jade It got me thinking about Talon Karrde(DID I SPELL HIS NAME RIGHT???)(for his smuggling gang) and ex-Senator Garm Bel Iblis being like still in exile as he was in the original Thrawn Book Trilogy would be a neat concept.. But one out of a million that this will happen lol
- ArchAngeL-PCX5 years agoNot applicable
@soapy_catusesIt might lol. Seems like they are warming up Thrawn to be an early New Republic villain just like in the original Thrawn trilogy. If so, maybe they have plans for more. Those 90's EU books were popular and well regarded as some great SW stories. And yes I think you spelled it right lol.

DICE Team
@ArchAngeL-PCX Would be pretty epic if they went down that route with Grand Admiral Thrawn.
We also got Esra story line to catch up to.
/Atic - ArchAngeL-PCX5 years agoNot applicable@EA_Atic I hope we find out that the path Ezra saw was just to get Thrawn out of the way for the remainder of the Galactic Civil War. But yeah, I want to see how that played out for both Thrawn and Ezra.
Maybe he and Ezra help the Chiss, but they don't want him back. So he has no choice but to return to the Imperial remnant? It's a different path, but basically the same result as the old EU.
Also, could Rogue Squadron be basically a return of the characters from the X-wing books? Talon Karrde, Admiral Daala, Mara Jade...maybe Captain Palleaon survived the Galactic Civil war...could happen right? lol - Player555 years agoNot applicable
The season 2 of Mandalorian was amazing and quite spectacular. Even Clone Wars was fine but it could have been better than this in my opinion. It's better what we got than getting nothing!
I look forward to the Obi-Wan Kenobi series in 2022! Can't wait!!!
- ArchAngeL-PCX5 years agoNot applicable@Player55 Yeah it was epic. Obi-Wan is going to be awesome indeed! I'm hyped for basically all of it starting with Bad Batch and Book of Boba Fett coming next year! I'm even starting to get interested in their new High Republic era. The first book out next month Light of the Jedi seems to be getting very good early reviews.
