It's been happening to me for almost 72 hours now. It usually connects by the 4th or 5th try.
Hey everyone,
Can I get your country, platform, ISP and what troubleshooting you have tried to solve it. Will help us investigate any issues.
We are currently not seeing any issues and when we are testing the game its working for us.

I'm in the US (Portland, Oregon) am on Windows 2004 (19041.631) and use Comcast as an ISP.
The issue began last week and from what I can tell it's random. At first I went and re-enabled certain Windows services, but what I have found is that no matter what I change to the setup, it just takes a few tries to successfully connect. As someone else said, the game seems to launch in "offline mode" and only connects when I click on "connect".
As I was creating this reply I attempted to login and was successfully connected automatically and immediately, so the problem does seem to be intermittent.

i also have this issue
game started and told me i was in offline mode and to go online when i tried it said ea services are not available. three tries and it connected.
im uk and i am on windows 10 20H2 19042.844
there is no problem with my connection i was playing diablo 3 all day (and if you lose net it takes you out of that game to log in again).
i can guess it might be to do with recent windows updates that had to do with proxy server settings (cant remember exactly what the patch notes said for the update) but thats all it is, a guess. i wouldnt bet money on it, could be something else entirely.

Still an issue as of last night. On the 7th attempt to connect it stopped giving the 721 Error and connected me.
All other games and online services are working fine.

This morning was by far the worst to date: I was able to connect on the 13th try.

Yeah, took me 7 tries on Sunday.

Today was the first since I posted the issue that I got in on first try. Did EA change anything?
Requested details:
Country: USA
ISP: Frontier
Platform: PC
Troubleshooting: made sure drivers up to date, made sure latest Windows updates applied, did internet speed test, rebooted
So many updates occurring on EA's side and user's side (e.g. Windows updates), even a game that has had no releases for months can have issues. Not easy to troubleshoot sometimes, I know.

Alas, as soon as I tried to play later in the day, I could not connect. So, I guess not much has changed.

We've started seeing the same problem too. UK based, gigabit internet through Virgin, all other services working fine... :-/

I am UK based using a PC with Win 10 (all drivers etc are at the latest level). I tried your advice ...given in another thread ...to no avail.
The problem is not going to stop play (unless you give up too quickly) ....you just have to persist and keep hitting connect and you are on line. I can go 5 start ups and every time it takes between 3 and 10 attempts to get past the 721 message , then I can go a couple of times with connecting first time! So not a game stopper just really annoying for someone who logs on over 10 times a day!

I've also been having some connection issues, I believe there may be a larger problem with the servers since I have had inconsistent problems with game connection and lag issues with the game since I first played and I have already checked and my internet hasn't been having any issues connecting to the internet in any other programs. But overall thank you for looking into the issue.

What do we THINK we know so far …
- People are starting up in off-line mode. If you try and CONNECT you receive error 721
- You can accept the error and try to CONNECT again.
- You can connect eventually but you need to be persistent. So a “solution” of sorts.
- Its never the same amount of connect requests. It can be one, it can be more than 10 requests before connecting
- So, it’s not as such a game stopper … just really, really annoying ?
- People of all experience levels are seeing this issue
- It works ok for EA_Atic (and others?) at EA ?
- Its across multiple regions not one specific region
- Its not a specific ISP
- Its on the PC platform for sure … I cannot remember seeing anyone report Playstation or Xbox, but that’s not say they haven’t experienced the issue and I easily could have missed it.
- It seems to have occurred starting at least 3 weeks, maybe 4 weeks ago.
- It appears to occur every day since.
- For me it occurs every day, every time I load SW.
- It doesn’t occur with any other EA or non-EA game or application (at least for me). So, like many other people I am assuming its not a local hardware, driver or system problem.
- Although it can never be ruled out, given that one can eventually connect suggests it’s not a local system issue
- This leaves two POSSIBLE root causes a) an issue with a recent update to SW or b) a server connection issue ?

I'm on PC from Sweden and i have had to push connect several times every time i start the game for weeks now.

I'm assuming by "SW" you mean Battlefront 2. Last Battlefront 2 was months ago, so that's not it.
The Battlefront run-time files are not the only things loaded to run the game. Origin is also used, so it could be an issue specific to Origin. Or it could be an issue with an update to Windows. So, it could be something on each user's PC that's gotten in the way, although to your point, chances are it's something on the backend like a server or network patch.
Also, how do you know its not happening with other games? Have you checked the other forums? (I'm not trying to be smart; I'm sincerely asking the question.)

Yes, Star Wars 2 Battlefront. Star Wars 1 Battlefront and Squadrons work OK (at least for me) on loading. No problems either with other non EA games loading and running. I just double-checked. It could be an issue with Origin as I have seen numerous updates.
I haven't checked the other EA forums as EA probably have a better oversight than I could possibly have....and they can do it a lot more efficiently.
Three thoughts ...
1) if it was due to a Windows update ....why only this specific game, not others and why then can you connect eventually and not "permanently be locked out".
2) is every Windows gamer affected. If some are not ...why not? Still not 100% clear if Playstation and XBox users are seeing this?
3) If EA_Atic and colleagues don't see this happening ...what is different about their settings/position relative to servers versus us?

ISP: Spectrum
Troubleshooting: Reset router, reboot router, reboot machine, relaunch game, sign out/in to Origin, manually disconnect and reconnect ethernet.
Spamming the "Connect" button eventually works, but it doesn't resolve that relaunching the game makes me go back to disconnected.

Not sure where this will end up in the thread but as of today (31/03/21) I'm having this problem ongoing. Tonight I've got it working after about the fifth try, nothing else on my system games wise is experiencing problems and no internet connection problems.
