- @izNeek Cross play between platforms would be very difficult. It definitely can’t go between consoles and PC, because they have a text chat and modding. It wouldn’t be able to carry over. With Play Station Plus active, PS4 players can get BF2 for free, so it would immensely increase the player base, but if they combined there would be an Xbox fan revolt about the free game. There are many reasons why it should come, but it is a very big technical hurdle
@HCarbonic they could bring in text chat into star wars bf2, like they have in call of duty mw 2019. Just for inspiration for the devs 😅
but like you said, its a big technical hurdle so I understand if it wouldn't inplement crossplay :/@HCarbonic also sorry for my english if they're grammer errors 😅😅😅
- @izNeek I fear that if they add text chat on console people would spend les time gaming and more time roasting and insulting the other team. It takes much longer to type using the console controllers moving between letters then selecting...it still would boost the entire playerbase by a large amount of all the combined consoles, this would mean the game would last a lot longer, but the devs didn’t have this in mind in their “vision” before it was “complete”
- @HCarbonic Also your English is fine, I wouldn’t have noticed whether you are a native speaker or not. It’s one of the hardest languages to learn apparently, just I’ve always spoken so it doesn’t seem as hard as it did at the age of 1.
@HCarbonic they could also try to implement mouse and keyboard support for the game like they did in cod mw 2019, but the game was made before cod 2019. it would be a huge challenge for the devs :/
Cross-play Playstation/Xbox is a good idea for this game and near obligatory for the next games.
- @izNeek I guess...never really thought about that. Keyboards can be plugged into some consoles. Even though this isn’t what this thread is about, it still would be a good feature . But I can’t see this or cross play happening, not due to the game but with the consoles, as well as how the games support has ended
I think it is a good idea, I don't see a problem in mods or the chat:
- Mods, people in PC who use mods can play with people who don't use mods, the same can be done with consoles.
- Chat, if it is gonna be a problem just disable the chat for consoles or just disable the chat completely for everybody in a lobby where there are PC and console players mixed. Anyway I play in PC and the chat is most of the times quite useless, I often disable it.
- @Krzysiu0z Never knew this about the mods. Except people would use PCs to hack, that’s a big problem. Your chat idea is genius...just remove it if it causes problems. Compromises aren’t needed, a chat is a good price to pay to get a huuuuuge playerbase
