Could be the issue I'm having. Using Nvidia drivers too. I am finding the game incredibly unstable, weirdly played Beta and all other sneak peaks at the game without issue.
But with the retail release of the game I crash.....
1) Whenever first playing a map I've not played before in Galactic Assault mode.
2) Occasionally when I die.
3) Some times randomly on spawn.
4) When spawning as a Special Class (Wookiee for example).
5) In the menus customising my kit, yeah, when not even in game.
6) Most annoyingly, in Single Player whenever I have to play her droid's segments, crashes me at some point in it's sequence without fail. Which makes that pretty much unplayable.
I hadn't noticed just how bad it is until tonight as I'd been playing mostly Starfighter Assault which appears to be really stable as I've not had any issues with it. But tonight on playing Galactic Assault I had in total one round that I did not crash out of. Which is just ridiculous. It is shameful to release a game in such a shoddy buggy state. If it is a driver incompatibility issue or something they'd best get on it sharpish.
I've not tried any fixes my end as I'm pretty sure it is a driver issue. Anyhow my specs are as follows:
Intel Core i7-4790K CPU @ 4.00GHz
32GB (RAM)
Nvidia GeForce GTX 780 GPU
Windows 8
Oh, and am on 388.13 too, so will try the latest Driver now and see how we do.
Nope, just updated to the latest drivers (388.31) and the results are the same.
Playing Galactic Assault, running fine until I tried to pick up one of those anti-vehicle pick-ups and then I locked up. So latest driver update hasn't done Jack. C'mon EA/DICE, sort it out.

This is probably just specific to my win7 x64 system - since the new driver.
In my NVIDIA control panel (right click desktop background to get to it, or control panel) i just switched on;
Texture Filtering - Trilinear Optimization - ON
and set,
Texture Filtering - Quality - Performance
I am no longer crashing out to black screen in campaign, I was freezing up a bit, and had to reduce resolution though. *Also playing with only 8GB ram, and the campaign seems to use a ton o ram, so I play it on low settings, ambient occlusion off, antialias low, resolution scale 80-70% ☹️ until i get more ram next month.

That was fun while it lasted, another campaign crash - battle of endor mission tree, while in space...

11/17/2017- I am vanishing ☹️
Got done with support, my "gaming notebook" ' s nvidia 840M vid card doesn't meet the requirements, and I need to get another 8GB ram stick to match the current 8 - ☹️
so maybe I will be back in a month or so...
GL and may the force be with you Standard 🙂

On latest driver version for Nvidia (Battlefront II game-ready driver) and there are occasional "nvidia driver stopped working and has recovered" black screen crashes.
fps is capped to 72.

So I was able to get my game to stop going to black screen over and over again in the campaign by running the game as an administrator and disabling the other monitors I have (2 other ones) and using only the primary monitor.
Such a stupid solution but it works for now so whatever.
- 8 years agoI don't have dual monitors and have the same problem like you.
