- @UNL1M1T3D_P0W3R Yup. The game is a finished product now. It’s a shame we’re not getting any more updates with all the new players
I believe it won't go beyond XP events. But the lack of support might be some sort of sign that EA's focusing on the new gen title maybe?
- @SILE3NCE EA stopped BFII and BFV teams so they can work on the next Battlefield game to release at the end of next year.
- @DarthLando19 It's finished.
I wouldn't call it a finished product I assume the game will be dead in a year and a half. It was fun while it lasted, but the game is simply too buggy and feels rather incomplete.
This is the end of EA's Battlefront reign. I hope. In all probability, this will turn into a FIFA/Madden sort of yearly release that steadily lowers in quality.
It's just * that many people immediately asked "but is there a BF III coming?"
We don't need a new game, BF II is awesome with all the content that's already there and with everything that the team probably had in mind for the future, until EA pulled the plug and made clear to them that they have other plans.
It's really sad as there was potential to make even more out of this game to keep it fresh and relevant even in the next years.
I wouldn't call it a finished game in this regard but yeah, just as the titles says, everyone who asks for changes wastes his time.
The devs made it crystal clear that there won't be any new content drops or significant gameplay changes coming anymore, only minor possible bugfixes and challenge/event changes, if necessary.
EA is a disgrace compared to the rest of the gaming industry.
That is all i have to say.
This game died over a year ago.
It’s a shame because this game really needed MORE support than it needed “free content”.
This is the exact mistake EA / DICE and other Devs make; they take the philosophy that it’s better to release a half a**, buggy title that’s bloated with content rather than make a game that’s employs solid logic and stability.
IMO BF II is ten fold WORSE than BF I simply because the overall gameplay value was better in BF I ... sure it didn’t have a story but it also didn’t have so many glitches; you got a more consistent gameplay environment.
BF II is loaded with flawed logic, imbalanced characteristics, bugs, and server resolution issues that makes the game not worth it; even with “free content” ... and let’s talk about that btw ... we all saw how well the Crait DLC looked as it was compiled for BF II, yet Scariff is clearly just a port from BF I ... why bother? I’d have rather you spent the time to address gameplay quality issues rather than port in a map of lower visual quality ... they didn’t even port the key characters!
Star Wars BF II is the poster child for corner cuts and pacification by way of bribery. Rather than developing quality they threw out quantity and they’re not the only ones (we’re looking at you R* / TT).
It’s almost incredible to think that Gun put more effort into the quality of the F13 title; despite all of the legal challenges; that a crowd funded game ended up with a stable and balanced gameplay speaks volumes.
EA can absolutely forget about me buying Squadrons.
- @TRlALON Exactly.
