The solution - In Origin, on the sidebar hover over Origin Access, then select Play First Trials - there's your "Free Trial" link to download 🙂
Does not help if you do not have Origin Access. 😢

on Free Trials you have to join and pay at least 1 month. we don't want that after. All we want is to pre load the game, nothing else
