Hello @melanarus,
The new squad spawn system has been tested in the game since the last patch. And yes, it has its flaws. Once the enemy team pushed to the objective in strike, it is extremely hard to counter them if you cannot spawn on your squad members.
In respect to that, I find it pretty hard to squad spawn on members. Since last week, you cannot spawn on squad members if they are enforcer, jumptroopers, vehicles, heroes or if they shoot once in a random direction. I find myself most of the time using the default spawn option instead. I bet I am not the only one encountering this and these rules will probably be adjusted further with the upcoming Grievous update this month.
To add to that, the devs have said they will include changes to the squad spawn system in the next update. So let's hope they change it for the better.
BTW, the empty lobby issue is indeed pretty annoying. IMO, a server browser in combination with randomizing teams would be a better option right now, until a working system proves itself.

Thanks for the response. It is a nice reply but... I don't think the problems will be solved.
Let me make this short and to the point so you can really get what I'm saying.
I have TWENTY friends I play Star Wars Battlefront 2 STRIKE MODE with. Most of the time we team up with about 4-8 of us on a team. We ALWAYS win. Right now we keep losing and we all play EVERYDAY.
Right now NONE of my friends are playing Star Wars Battlefront STRIKE MODE because the squad system makes playing offense seriously hard, AND when my friends play on my team, a GLITCH makes it so the SPAWN feature is OFF.
NONE of my 20 friends are playing STRIKE anymore. And the testing of matchmaking is the cherry on top KILLING this game.
GOING TO WORK IS MORE FUN THAN PLAYING THIS GAME. If somebody sincerely said that to me about my product, I would have to consider how the hell did a game get so bad that someones favorite "game" became more of a choir than going to WORK!!!!!!!!
