Quick Console vs. PC question

I've seen a lot of talk on the forums of PC vs. Console. Ignoring the personal preferences of one vs. the other, are the matches being played with a mix of console and PC players? Or is it console ...

There are very few games that support cross-platform play, and even those don't support it between the rivalling consoles (as far as I know). BF2 is not such title, you could buy it for a console and PC and you'd have different profiles etc.
Also, I'm a fairly good shot with a controller, but PC players would absolutely destroy me with the precision of a mouse.
