I have tried all the solutions and the only solution that throws this game is the prayer. A shot he will launch at the end of the third tetnative, a blow at the end of the 10th, you never know. EA takes us for idiots, it's a real scandal. everyone is willing enough to try to find solutions when we are not computer technicians and EA acts with impunity. You have to complain, it's enough to sell unfinished products, it's illegal.

  • I've been off-and-on troubleshooting this issue since launch in late 2017 with no success.

How is this still an issue?

@Ali_R_Faraji @Dreambluezzz .  Weighing in here to help.  Games are so big and files are Gigs large.  I have a pretty robust system and sometimes its the internet connection outside my home, or a storm between me and the ping, or a currupt file in the trillions of 1's and 0's.

Have played for 18 months and had numerous issues, but eventually found support here to fix the issue.

Number 1 fix:  Full shut down, - Computer, internet modem and router. Wait 2 mins.  Start Modem, wait,  start router, wait, start computer, wait for full boot and connection.  Launch.

Number 2 fix: If 1 did not work, Reboot, Delete settings folder in SWBF2 folder in documents folder.  (Holds your personal set of info locally). Reboot, Launch Origin.  Launch game, and let it gather info from server to replace that folder.   Launch!

Number 3. Whenever you play, make sure you reboot just before playing to get a clean boot and all the resources your computer has will be dedicated to the game. Runs faster and better. When finished, reboot before you load the game again as sometimes old data in your file will be currupted if left open for too long with no activity.

Sometimes the game may need to be reinstalled.  When you do this, reboot before and after.  ( Before launching the game.. ).

It can be your side or the server side but rarely is it both.  Sometimes I found that a device on my network is streaming and I lose all the internet I need ot connect. Rebooting the router and modem resets this.

    Hope some of this helps.

Can you tell me your computer specs?

    Will keep trying..

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/947821/fix-windows-update-errors-by-using-the-dism-or-system-update-readiness

run the System Update Readiness tool.

Also run a dxdiag.exe and post the text file.

    • In Windows, select Start  and enter dxdiag into the search box on the taskbar. Select dxdiag from the results.

    • In the tool, select Save All Information for an easily shared format.

  • I dont know if you're tried it yet, but I just got mine working last night after five days of throwing everything at the problem.  It turns out what got it running was to uninstall battlefront, and then uninstall ORIGIN

I'm led to believe the game is fine, it's actually the platform it runs from is absolute trash.   I made sure to delete any remnant of origin existing from the machine (Delete programdata and appdata origin folders).  Go and download a new copy, reinstall battlefront , and after another 50 hours of waiting for the bloated * of a game  to download, try and run it.

Having same issue with today's patch. Clicks icon,  screen briefly goes dark then it pops right back to Origin Launcher. Already deleted setting in documents and deleted and redownloaded .exe files.

I have the same issue. But after a restart of PC or restart of Origin the game sometimes works fine (about 10 % of my attempts).

I managed to boot up the game from the quickstart menu (right clicking the Origin icon in the task bar). That might be an easy fix

What did I just spend 5 dollars on... Just did a read through of the thread and all I can say is, Is that legal??

EA is for sure going the way of Kathleen Kennedy.

After a few tries I can confirm that the game still won't launch by starting it through the game library, but if I boot it up from the hidden task bar (by right clicking the Origin Icon), it works everytime.

It's not a solution, but it works until we find one.

  • None of it is working for me. Figures, new patch comes out and I can't even launch game to enjoy it. I'll never by another EA game....

It seems like the only solution earlier has been to just wait 12-24 hours. Hopefully you'll get your game to start!

Are you sure you went to the hidden icons and started the game from Origin there?

Spent about an hour and read through this post. Had the exact same issue. Changed my game to D drive. When I click play, nothing happens and the play button just lights up again. I deleted my documents folder. Nothing changed. Then I clicked the settings icon next to the play button in origin. I went to game properties and turned off origin in game (so make the sure the box that says enable origin in game is not checked). Game then launched perfectly and my buggy mouse problem was even fixed. I hope this fix works for some of you because none of the other fixes mentioned here worked for me until I did this.

    Cheers.

  • Still having same issue even after full reinstall. It did work twice however out of 10 attempts.

Well *. Game ran perfectly yesterday after my fix. Now I open it again today and same issue. I click the play button, the origin window minimizes and then pops up again a few seconds later and nothing happens. Jeez. Is there seriously no fix to this issue.

Just try to wait and not do anything with the game for another 12-24 hours. Sure, try to boot it up, but don't delete folders, repair it or reinstall it. Just waiting worked for me.

    Hi EA,

onclick of the BF2 launch tile, the following occurs:

    • cloud sync runs to 100%,
    • my "Documents/STAR WARS Battlefront II" folder gets restored,
    • spinner cursor...
    • origin relaunches into the same "My Game Library" screen, as though i had never tried to launch

I tried purging my settings folder, launching from the status bar, and confirming all looks good with dxdiag.  What else could be the matter?  It was working fine before I was forced to update.  It was quite disappointing to not be able to play today.  Let me know what additional diagnostic I should provide.  Thanks!
