Re: Boost cards on AT-ST

@blubmed

I'm sorry to hear about your experience with our support so far ☹️

We've received a few similar reports from our console players. In their case, they have to remove locally saved progress from their device and cloud storage to solve this problem.

If you haven't done that already, I would suggest using the repair option and clearing Origin cache for starters.

  • It seems a lot of people have been having this problem since the progression update.  There was a change in how cards were "equipped" and "unequipped" at the time the progression changed.  This change was just mildly annoying to most of us, since it was a 100% unnecessary change and complicated card management a bit, but to those running into this problem with wrong cards, the change has been disastrous.  Basically, EA absolutely needs to change back the way cards are managed, or it will just keep happening.  It is completely ridiculous the steps that people need to go through, all the baloney about cloud saves and whatnot, to solve what is a bug that EA introduced into the game during the update. And it sounds like "support" is really not up-to-date on the problems that are occurring in the game, like there is a big lack of internal communication at EA, which is not a good business practice.

    Hey @blubmed

    I'm sorry for the late reply!

    Yes, I'm going to send this case to our specialists for further investigation. I've collected a few more examples from other PC players. I will update this thread once I hear back from them.

    Thank you for your patience and cooperation so far 🙂

    Hey @blubmed

    Our specialists suggest overwriting the cloud saves to solve this problem.

    Here's the instructions:

    • Launch the Origin Client
    • Log into your account
    • Open the ‘Origin’ menu
    • Click on ‘Application Settings’
    • Uncheck the ‘Enable cloud storage for all supported games’
    • Click ‘Done’ to finish
    • Exit the Origin client

    Start the game without being logged into the Origin client, play one round or arcade or similar and then exit game.

    • Launch the Origin Client
    • Log into your account
    • Open the ‘Origin’ menu
    • Click on ‘Application Settings’
    • Check the ‘Enable cloud storage for all supported games’
    • Launch game, at the prompt chose to use the  local save data not the cloud one
    • Play for a bit and exit again

    Let me know if that helped with the broken Star Card slot 🤞

    @blubmed

    I'm sorry for the wrong explanation, my bad! 😞

    I meant running SWB2 in offline mode and playing a match in Arcade 🙂

    @EA_Ataashi

    Funny thing: I get no promt...

    Achievements are from offline play. But the star card still does not work.

    Hey @blubmed

    I'm sorry for the late reply. Let's try some different steps here:

    1. Disable cloud saves (Origin -> Application Settings -> Installs and Saves -> Cloud Storage -> Off).
    2. Change the name of STAR WARS Battlefront II folder in your documents (to "STAR WARS Battlefront II copy", for example).
    3. Launch SWB2 (a new STAR WARS Battlefront II folder should be created in your documents then) and create a new save file - you can start the singleplayer campaign and wait for first autosave.
    4. Enable cloud saves in Origin.
    5. Launch the game again - check if Origin detects the mismatched data and asks you which saves do you want to use. If yes, choose the local save files.

    @EA_Ataashi

    thanks for your reply.

    I did steps 1 and 2. When I started the game all presets were gone, espcially the at-st bug. Then I started single player as expected, played till auto save and completed step 4 and 5.

    There was no promt to use local save files again. The bug and all my presets are gone. So kinda problem solved!

    Do I have to worry about my cloud backup?

    @blubmed

    I'm glad to hear that you can use all 3 Star Card slots now 🙂

    If Origin didn't load the old settings, when you enabled the cloud save feature again, then it shouldn't be a problem. But if you encounter any more problems like that in the future, feel free to let me know right away.
