I feel like the only one who likes them. They are pretty fun and unique. BB-8 is a strange glass cannon. BB-9E, on the other hand, is capable of infuriating enemy teams, and is a good support unit. 
I think that these heroes, with the way they are made, was probably the best we could have gotten from the ending support of this game. Think about it from a developer’s viewpoint. Both of the BBs don’t have voices, so you don’t need to hire multiple voice actors for different languages. They are similar, with models that are very close. They tie in to a new movie coming out. They are pretty iconic, which is good for advertising. Also, they bring new heroes to the most ignored trilogy in the game. 
I welcome any new content to the game. Could we have gotten better stuff? Of course. But they make the Sequel trilogy really fun to play. So I don’t really mind them being included at all.
