Re: Nerf the ******* emperor already

It is quite supprising emperor shoots through walls in swbf2 as this was a constant complaint in swbf1 for over a year. I liked the emperor character but still complained about the shooting through walls,rocks, even floors.


With all the nerf emperor, this has now happend he is now so weak he is usless as a character and should be removed from the game, he is just a easy target. It is a shame as the emperor was a good character for new players.

I have no interest in using emperor in his current weak condition, mine is fully upgraded.

The gameplay in h vs v is ridiculous freezing oppenents so they can be killed without combat, waist of time playing.

Mind trick which makes you fall to death or locks your control so you can be easily killed. Why not just nuke oppenents and not play at all.


This is supposed to be a combat game, I play h vs v because i expect it to be more like tekken or street fighter but in a great playfeild, I am extremely disappointed with all the characters in h vs v, they all fail to provide a enjoyable game.

    Hello @xeriphin, Let me discuss your problems.

    1. The bug that allowed the emperor to shoot through walls is solved, he cannot shoot through walls anymore. He didn't get a nerf since launch, he only got a buff after the bug was fixed. The emperor is one of the fastest moving characters when timing his jump and dodge roll correctly. He is therefore hard to hit and can fly high up in the air with his force lightning. He is definitely NOT weak, he can recover massive amounts of health in a short amount of time. In GA, the emperor can be alive for the whole match, getting killstreak up to approx. 70 kills per match. IMO, his movements should be tweaked so he can't escape so quickly.

    2. Freezing opponents in HvV is just using the abilities. There are freeze/shock abilities on both the light and dark side. These attacks can be blocked (by lightsaber) or dodged by combat roll. I suggest changing your playstyle a bit to adjust to which enemy you are encountering. So if you want to defeat chewie, you don't walk up to him in the upon from the front, but try to outmanouvre him.

    3.Reys Mind trick is a unique and creative ability that can be very annoying to enemies, but however, does on its own no damage whatsoever. If you are trapped in the mind trick (which you can block and dodge) you should try to move away from Rey for that period of time. Try to dodge, or jump (with palps) to get out of the reach. It requires some practice and doesn't require any tweaks IMO.

    I note your views and respond.

    1. If emperor has not been nerfed then I am experiencing a loss of hits of 25%.
    I am sure emperor can last the whole game in GA,
    In h vs v this is not my experience.

    2. To me the freezing of opponents so they can be easily killed is a unacceptable feature which can not be blocked or shaken off after it is used.
    The fact that both sides have them is worse.

    3. Rey's mind trick is unique, the abilty to disrupt oppenents control of their character is both anoying and can not be blocked or shaken off after it is used.

    Regardless of the power of weapons some features are to disruptive to gameplay.

    While it might take me a little longer to kill characters in h vs v. I still can get scores of 15000-20000, it is the gameplay I am unhappy with, It is not a true combat game when features are added that can result in your character falling to death or frozen and killed without combat.

    Also the full playfeild is not accessable, you have to follow some paths and can not jump up the hill, some of the characters can not jump well at all.

    I have to say I disagree with Palpatine being too weak. He's easily still one of the best Villains in GA and HvV. I'd say for how easy it is to drain his health he needs to be able to move as quickly as he does to keep him balanced and playable otherwise he would just be cannon fodder. On the whole if you use him correctly timing your jumps and dashes he can be very effective.

    YES GIVE PALPATINE A LIGHTSABRE.

    He needs something to defend himself properly, I am sure some opponents would be very happy to see palpatine with lightsabre, if he is using this there is not a stream of lighting as he cannot use both at the same time.

    Another reason is that many times emperor lighting has failed to lock on to oppenent directly in front or when he is jumping.

    In my opinion as a HVV player,Palpatine should not be able to shock and immobilize with normal attacks, he already drain stamina and dont need to aim properly to hit the targets. I dont know if is a glitch or something that palpatine is design to do, but is unfair that he can interrupt and make waste all the powers of the heroes just spamming lightnings , powers like force push,repulse, rush,charge slam,shoulder bash,unleash,etc etc

    So do you think giving palpatine a light sabre would be a good idea, he would then use his current abilities less.

    They should add a secondary palpatine with saber and different powers like they did with the falcon in SFA so the people would be able to choose the gamestyle, the current Palpatine anyway deserve to be dimmed in power because he is unbalanced, he can clean an entire room in GA in seconds (no other heroes can) and in HVV made the game unbareble because nullify the effort of the opposing team just spamming his lightnings and making his team virtually unstoppable.
    To stop a good Palpatine followd by a less than mediocre party of randoms,require a coordination of 4 good players in voice chat ,and i find it unfair.
