Same issue. Crashing to desktop. The game hates when I am in the menus now for some reason. It also unequiped all my star cards and weapons from everything.

GTX 1080 Ti

Let me guess: you also lost all Arcade progression?

Hey @NavarDerth @Sinimaxx @inglorious_NZL,
Can you upload a dxduiag to me, so I can see what hardware and drivers you are using.
How to do a dxdiag: https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/pc/how-to-gather-dxdiag-information/

Sweet as. I've attached a dxdiag report it to this reply
Hi Sinimaxx, down right sucks ay. Least I know i'm not alone on this...I was kinda wondering that. Havent lost any of my saved game data yet thankfully but since the new han solo update its been kicking me out at the main menu sreen as well now.

🙂 Well at least I now know I'm not alone, only got the game yesterday and took four attempts to start the campaign as it kept crashing to desktop in the menu, only played through as far as Endor forest popped back to the menu and crashed again, definitely seems menu overlay issue.

I have the same issue since the Han Solo Update. The game crashes pretty often (with a bit of luck I can finish one round of GA...).
I always had dx11 enabled, so I tried to enable dx12, but that just made it worse (game even crashed in the main menu...) So I re-enabled dx11 and used the origin repair function, but that didn't help either.
Description of the crash:
the crash occurs in the trooper select menu (after u die) when the timer is at 0 and the game is about to spawn u - right at the moment where the spawn menu should disappear, maybe a problem with the "change of scenery" - happened on 3 different maps (death star, kamino, third one I forgot..), didnt want to keep playing after that. it just crashes to desktop without any kind of error message.
Same issue and tried the same method as TheInvisible1337. BF2 crashes - sometimes comes back to desktop, sometimes I have to manually restart pc and no error shown. I also noticed menu is really laggy just as the game opens. Blast mode sometimes doesn't even start and Heroes vs Villains crashes after merely 30-120 seconds, every single time. It also crashes in arcade.

I've played since release. Latest patch crashes game multiple times per play session. Usually from menus. The patch also unequipped all of my star cards, appearances, keybinds graphics settings and reset all of my arcade progress but kept milestones. Using the GeForce Experience tab of "Optimize Game" finally fixed the graphics. Mostly crashes just closed the program but often it would hard lock my system requiring a full restart.
I've played since pre-release in November and my account is an Origin Access account. I started with trial then it became the full game. However, during patches it also downloads a trial and regular game patch.
Here are my NVIDIA Control Panel Settings under 3D Settings/Manage 3D Settings/Program Settings

I hope this helps trouble shoot the issue because it's massively frustrating.

- Sounds like the same issue I'm having.
The gameplay itself runs smooth as butter, but when I go to menus, each click of a button is a dice roll if my game is going to crash. Seems worse with the last patch.
I can play several matches in a row if the two conditions are met:
1) My character doesn't need to respawn at match end, and
2) I *NEVER* try to so much as *TOUCH* my star cards. Did you guys try other games? Because I noticed I have the same issue with Sims 4 and Gta V, maybe other games too. I think it might be Win 10 related problem - games mentioned have trouble running after update to versions 1709 and 1803. I was using 1607 before 12th June. and everything was alright.
I am running Win 10 v1607 and the issue kept happening to me either. Can't say anything about how it is now because I haven't been able to launch the game after the last patch.
I get error all the time and crasher.
721, 1066 and so on no matter what I do.
And it crashes a lot of the times too

I haven't tried other EA games, but since 1803 came out I've played Fortnite, WoW, Far Cry 5, and House Flipper. No problems with any of them. Not saying I should rule it out though.
- @EmpressVinna @Sinimaxx
Any chance it is related to a windows update? Or your card driver ?
Check your last update timing. Had this recently and when I reverted to older driver, runs perfect. GLHF - I think I figured it out.
I had to revert my graphics card drivers back one, and switch to dx11. - @Major-Band1t @Draknarr9868 I did both a clean windows install with older update and reverted graphics card driver to one before June. Not sure which one helped but everything works fine now!
- You do know you can find out the version you're using right?
Seems I've found a solution... but lets see if EA will let me post this answer this time...seems they don't like to be criticized for their bad workmanship lol
It seems to be a DIRECTX12 issue and game updates.
Here's what i'm doing. Go to \Documents\STAR WARS Battlefront II\settings and open "BootOptions" file with notepad.
Then go to the line that says ".EnableDx12" and delete the 1 and put a 0 in its place so it reads ".EnableDx02" instead then save it.
I have to do this every time before I start the game because if I don't it seems after I have been playing it it has been changed back...but if I dont change it it crashes as usual however when I do change it it works and so far I can play endlessly by doing it...
Let me know how you guys go. hoping by continuously doing this I can keep playing it at least...@inglorious_NZL sorry but this has been claimed like 100 times before, yes, DirectX12 is an issue, but we are way over that like weeks ago. And you dont need to mess with the file, you just have to turn directx off in the game's video settings...
@Nevod81haha...dont know where youre sitting mate but theres a heap of people still having the dx12 problem and don't know what it is. If we could of found a direct answer then we all wouldnt be here complaining about the issue still would we.? thanks for the help though, your last minute genius has just solved something that many people are still struggling with and that I had to find how to do from a BattleFront Forum...I thought thats what EA customer support was for or am I missing something?...also I might add...if you don't do something like the method im using, most people are lucky to even make it to the game menu lol

I had to revert my graphics card drivers back one, and switch to dx11.@inglorious_NZL and this is just one, from the 2nd page, from this topic, there are tons of other topics where everyone says that directx 12 has to be disabled and everyon should use dx11. But whatever, you are the man! :D
@Nevod81thats true man lots of people did say that and thats what got me working on it... I just couldnt figure out or find how to do it and was getting frustrated
@Nevod81might of been alright if I was searching "crashing on startup" but that wasn't my initial problem, that only just started happening for me. I was searching SWBF2 crashes during multiplayer and got sweet FA
