@Whipcream9575 There are a few reasons why:
Battlefront II, at one point, was a much better and overall balanced game, however, DICE absolutely RUINED the game by installing bad mechanics and poor logic that made the game play incredibly clumsy.
Input lag, stacking, & almost unbelievable levels of imbalance are at the forefront of what makes this game much lower quality than what it once was and what it could have been.
This forum is FULL of threads from veteran players (myself included) who have played and tested the game since day one and tried to provide feedback to the Devs but often those suggestions went ignored.
In fact, the efforts we had to put out to get the Devs to fix an AWFUL dodge to block logic was insane. It was clear at that point the Devs weren’t so interested in listening to the community and refining the game so much as just doing whatever they thought they wanted.
Battlefront II has pretty bad overall reviews and feedback and that says ALOT about a game based on a multi billion & multi decade franchise. You have to REALLY screw the pooch to get bad reviews on a Star Wars product yet here we are.
EA’s exclusivity contract with Disney regarding Star Wars titles expires in 2023. It’s already been announced that another studio is working on a new Star Wars game (not Battlefront).
It’s unclear whether or not EA will secure some other contract after 2023; I’m sure they’ll negotiate something. IMO EA would be MUCH better served to let Respawn handle the Star Wars titles and do something else with DICE because they struggle to put out anything of quality (see Battlefield 2042).
So to answer your question, why not make a Battlefront 3? Because DICE honestly couldn’t make one that anyone believes would be any good and it’s pretty clear that not enough people would buy it after how BF2 was handled. If there is to be another “Battlefront” title it really needs to go to another studio.
