I am loving the specialist class. I mainly play Supremacy (or HvV). I usually go as Age of Rebellion because maps like Hoth and Scarif are amazing zones for sniping. I don't use sniper that much on pt though. When I get st they usually work pretty good on Jakku, Crait, and Kloss
After spending over 2 years barely touching the Specialist class, I decided to finally level up the weapons. I never play Blast...usually just Supremacy and Co-op. But I have to say I like the class a lot. I find it to be the most versatile of the classes. Obviously it has the distance with the sniping and scouting features. But I tend to run the 280 burst fire assault rifle, and it's extremely good at short-mid range. The middle ability essentially gives me a SMG for a bit with easy take down ability. Mix in stun grenade, stun pistol or whatever else and I can be a highly effective front line player.
I use the new cycler rifle for the larger maps and the A280-CFE for the smaller maps and works really well. I still use the Stinger pistol a lot even though it's not as strong, but I mainly play Blast with enforcers everywhere - and it still works well on them. Then I like using the trip wire on inside maps because it never fails to get 1 or 2 surprise eliminations which makes me laugh every time it happens
