Silly forum moderators + banned from EA for using an anti-cheat mod?
First off, the forum moderators here are silly. I got a warning on my account for posting a link to a well known mod site, the mod in question for which I was banned from the game. I have removed the link so just go by the name ig.
Why was I banned for using Anti-Cheat Cinematic_Spam mod from [MOD SITE REDACTED DUE TO EVER INTELLIGENT THREAD MODERATORS]?
Hackers have recently been a bane on the existence of all players ingame, whether its bored hackers or a bot going server to server just making things unplayable in Galactic Assault.
Someone ingame told me about the Anti-Cheat Cinematic_Spam mod ([URL REDACTED DUE TO EVER INTELLIGENT THREAD MODERATORS]), I got it and it works on all but 2 maps, Hoth and Geonosis. However, I ran into the issue of players accusing me of being the hacker since I was remaining uneffected by them. I stayed silent about it for a month, not telling anyone how I was able to continue playing while they got sent on a tour of the map.
I started to get fed up with the lobbies dying so much, whenever V0SS decided to come strolling along, so I started telling players in chat every time it happened: "Get the mod Anti-Cheat Cinematic_Spam from Nexusmods.com"
"It prevents them from sending you on a tour of the map"
Well a week later I got a ban notice stating I used tools or methods not documented ingame or on EAs TOS. Ig outright telling people I use it was enough evidence to get me banned. I appealed twice, my first appeal was closed apparently and the second declined. I decided to appeal everyday until I am unbanned.
The only thing they've told me is that after an investigation into the matter they concluded they made the right call in banning me. Its quite annoying not in the fact that I am banned, its easy as making a new EA / Steam account if I really wanna keep playing, games like $4 on sale. But its very annoying in the fact that hackers are rampaging through the servers and I who did nothing but attempted to help others, am banned instead.
The hackers are doing enough in attempt to kill this game, why does the support team need to aid in doing so?
