Spawn Engine Issues where opposing team players are spawned together

I recently had an issue where I spawned inside an opposing team member twice in the same game.  I was playing " Heroes vs Villains" on the Yavin 4 map.  I was Darth Maul and the opposition was Rey.  I managed to kill them the first time while they killed me before I could do anything about it.

I do not know if they spawned first and did not move or we both re-spawned simultaneously.  But this is either a spawn engine glitch or a new spawn camper trick that needs to be fixed in order to not have an opposing team members not spawn at the same location within say 0 to 3 or 4 minute time window of each other.

I seem to be one of those players that frequently gets killed a lot in this game.  Whether it is due to a slow internet connection or my game playing style and skills I do not know.  That being the case I have been able to learn when I am being killed by either a spawn point camper or by someone who spawned right after me.

There is not much you can do about spawn point campers but hope the spawn engine will place you somewhere else on the map next time.  One thing that could be done is to create an algorithm in the spawn engine to change your location and not place you twice in a row at the same location within say a 0 to 55 second time frame.

I play a lot of "Blast" in SWBFII and have had all kinds of spawn issues in this mode of the game.  Since I am killed so frequently, I frequently get re-spawned by myself.  I think a lot of my deaths are created because of this as I am unable to get much support or give support to my team mates.

I have spawned many times at the literally same location and time as an opposing team player and either been killed or managed to kill them.  I have been shot in the back so many times where the spawn engine placed an opponent literally 3 milliseconds after me.  I have learned that you must leave a spawn point as soon as possible in order to avoid being killed.  The spawn engine needs to be fixed so opposition players do not spawn a the same location points within say a 0 to 3 or 4 minute time period.  Also it might be helpful to increase the number of spawn points on a map for the spawn engine can chose from.

I have noticed that while playing "Blast" that the spawn engine will most likely place you at the closest spawn point to where you were killed.  This is also not a good idea for people who get re-spawned by themselves because it is frequently behind enemy lines and not having any support from team mates.  One solution is to force the spawn engine to spawn a least 3 team members together.  Also you could add an algorithm in the spawn engine to place the person on the map closest to the highest concentration of same team members.

  • Hey @WhippingT thanks for the feedback and all that information! 🙂

Do you have any network issues while playing and/or do you get the network warning up in the right corner?

No, I get network issue alerts infrequently. I am using the Suddenlink 200Mbs unlimited data broadband internet service plan. 1Gbs service plans are available in my area but it cost $50 more per month

Hey @WhippingT Thanks for the information! is that fibre or is that 4g internet? Network issues have seldom to do anything with speed or of how fast it is but more about how stabile the network, aka don’t have ping spikes and don’t lose any data.

It is Suddenlink Cable TV/Internet Coax/Fiber Broadband internet service. It is not a wireless service. The first weekend of May was the first time I have noticed an ingame alert for slow connection speeds. I was getting a three of four bar alert with one text display alert message. I later checked using the E/A server ping test and I was getting the server at USA, Virginia with 50ms ping times. While this is the first time I have tried the E/A server ping tester, the other locations were longer that 68ms. Unknown if that is considered average or bad ping times. I attributed the low connection speed alert due to more than average network traffic on my local shared broadband connection which is shared with my neighbors who may have been hogging the service with movie streaming downloads or Skype service video calls, which create very heavy network traffic loads.

Hey @WhippingT thanks for the information!

Can you send over the results of the Uo-tracer you did in a PM to me?

    Thanks 🙂
