Speeder Bike Vs Heroes (endor)

So what’s the deal with these? Whenever I’m a hero I get taken out by speeder bikes with ease. Are they really suggesting that kylo, Vader, maul, Akanin, Luke, Obi Wan, Rey etc... can’t deal with the troopers with their force abilities? Just yesterday when I was kylo, my abilities light up when the bike is in front of me, but nothing happened?!! Really! Kylo can’t pull a solider with no force ability off the speeder? The grandson of Vader? How are we supposed to kill the speeders then? They are are almost as unrealistic as the ewoks are in film vs game. How do you defend and attack speeders of the force ability doesn’t work. I mean cmon! Vader can’t force choke someone on a speeder. Gimme a break.

  • @gregdeth666Because the speeders are, by class type, just vehicles like the tank.

The only difference is that the driving soldier is physically present and can be damaged by blaster fire as well as force abilities like Anakin's magnet or the lightsaber throw. Same goes for the Wampa riders.

There's no way to ragdoll someone off because of the original balance thoughts (I guess). Like registering properly that the soldier is no longer on the vehicle, also vehicles despawn as soon as the driver leaves it. Means all speeder/light assault walker drivers would just instantly permanently lose their vehicle.

Sure, that issue is poorly solved in a disadvantaging way for the heroes, because unlike for tanks, you often can't just escape a speeder by running into cover.

Also speeders are in the air, while you can still dispatch a light assault walker of the Republic with some saber strikes comparably easy.

Imo it would have been better though if it was possible to push people off speeders, because that's simply what can happen if you drive too close to a force user.

Also hero gameplay is already more like Dark Souls instead casual, the speeder problem doesn't really help here.

However, speeders have been nerfed to the ground, are really bad to control now and have lost almost all of their potential to deal that much damage to anyone and very few people even play them anymore. So, I may guess that you have this problem on Endor specifically because of the lack of proper cover and big spaces?

Besides from HvH I mainly play Supremacy and my experience of getting harassed by speeders and vice versa ended abruptly when they released the speeder nerf within an update months ago.

  • @TRlALON Thanks for the info. It get frustrating in GA when people end up being speeders and they can just come in and kill you off so easily. I kept trying to run and jump and half the time I even see where they are. Then when I did get faced off nothing in the force abilities work. I imagine it’s better with a none light saber hero to deal with
  • It’s def the lack of open spaces on endor that causes a lot of issues. What is a great asset for dealing with regular troopers becomes such a real issue with speeders. And yes it’s only an issue on endor. No other map is it a problem. It’s a shame. The game play is great and has so much. They could have easily have added force abilities working on speeder riders into the programming.

@gregdeth666I was about to recommend you playing as Anakin with the All For Me star card because this allows you to OHK all non heavies but unfortunately the speeder driver has a too high HP pool to make this possible.  It's even to high for Obi-Wans push combined with the Quickened Focus card. 😕

Maybe it's the positive thing here that this issue seemingly only exists on Endor, on all other maps I have experienced the speeders to be rather useless so far due to the control and dmg nerfs.

So I guess don't play as saber hero there because due to the crappy minimap features you'll be found anyways and try to perform well with other classes instead (or blaster hero), just on this map. I mean game support has ended, so we won't see any more content changes.

Though now I can imagine what you mean. They don't even need to hit you that accurately all the time (I guess they're also not really able to), but the splash damage from the trees and rocks behind you is the deal here as it seems. On open maps there's only the ground, but aiming with the speeders is a mess anyways and only hitting the ground instead of directs hits would take too long from what I have experienced.
