Starfighter Kills Not Registered

Been playing some Galactic Assault recently, and only like 10% of my kills I get as a Starfighter are registered. The rest just blow up,  no notification, no sounds, no assist, no nothing.

It's extremely annoying, as I can spend lots of time in the air and really do enjoy it, but end up getting zero reward while doing so, forcing me to use ground units if I want any type of progression.
