Stuck on loading screen

On PC, but Stuck at loading screen after exiting out of Star Fighter Assault happened again just a couple of hours ago. Inconvenient and annoying.  However there is no need to wait more than a minute to reboot the game.

From experience I know the game is stuck in some kind of "distracted, but not actually busy" nirvana state.  Usually the NVIDIA GTX-980  fps indicator during these "reload the menu page" nirvana events prevails above 200 fps.  During un-interrupted downloads or game crashes, video rates can intermittently flutter under 90 fps.   Having to reboot the BF2 game to halt a 5-10 minute freeze is a viable work around, but 1 minute can be a sufficient, if you have an fps indicator built into your video card to detect BF2 game is "distracted".
