I posted a workaround i found reddit, upon arriving to home page tab over to screen with characters, ships, etc. While on this screen move cursor to top left your profile. so u r in character screen with your login highlighted, now depress right joystick to sign in. it should work usually by 3 tries. all credit due to reddit poster who had fix.

That's not going to work for me sadly, I can't even get onto the main menu screen with the tabs, I'm just stuck on press to start screen. Good solution though for others👌
I cleared my dns settings prior to this fix and did hard reset on xbox 1 by unplugging power cable into xbox and into powerbar to clear cache. I couldn't get it to load my username initially, after I could and got me to page with menus and a stormtrooper.
- SOmetimes, you need to reset the modem router and xbox. Leave them off for 2 mins. Then starting with modem, let it complete. The router, let it complete. Then xbox. Each one starts fresh from no power cable.
