The game is unplayable after the TLJ patch. Constant stuttering and freezing.

Hello all. 

I think I found a temporary fix for the microstuttering after I read this thread so I thought It'd be pretty bad if I didn't come back here to help you all figure this out. 

It seems the stuttering has something to do with the files in the NV_cache folder. You can find this folder usually in "%temp%\NVidia Corporation". Don't delete the folder itself. Just go in and delete all the files in there before starting the game up.

I don't think you have to do it before each time you play (but I could be wrong there) but you do need to do it after each restart. Setting up a .bat file to automatically delete all files in the folder and making a shortcut of it on your desktop helps speed things up, but give this a try and hopefully you'll see the mircostutter disappear, I did - and I was this |--| close to uninstalling the other day until I discovered this.

I have just tested it and for me at least no improvements at all.It just made it worse.I am so disappointed from EA.I wont buy again anything from this company.I hope Ubisoft will create the next Star Wars game.Dont wait for this problem to be fixed.They just dont care.

Hi, nothing has changed since the TLJ Patch. Continues massiv stutter in Star fighter Assault and Arcade Mode on Xbox One X.

No it did not change anything

nope. no change at all. 100% cpu/gpu usage still. even in menu.  Shuttering in game. now more than before. And nowadays even my original overlay crashes too ingame. go blank white and black. and have to wait until comes in. that is eating my resources too.

same as here 100% cpu ect ect 😠

Time to uninstall for me , bye bye SWBF2 , very dispointed by the behavious of EA/DIce  : I ll never buy a SWBF again (from EA/Dice) )

Hey now let's not give EA too much trouble. I ONLY crashed 5 times in 3 hours last night. After the patch install I crashed 3 TIMES in 45MINUTES! That is really good. I am so happy with the customer service too. They have gotten back to me ZERO times. I've sent crash reports, my system specs, and tried all tips online. OH WAIT! EA responded to one of my posts because I changed an S to a $ to use profanity. Silly me getting around the profanity filter.  Glad they are on top of it though. Priorities peeps.

it didnt fix the stuttering issuses for me on both opening the loot packs and loading up a new map or campaign misson. it is using 100% of my CPU and GPU. I'm using a amd fx 8320 and an amd R9 200 series gpu

Even on my top spec PC the game has been unplayable for a month or so. The only way I have found to avoid constant frame rate drops is to disable DX12. 

The latest patch does appear to have reduced the lag in the crate opening sequence however, which is nice...

The only one thing that really help me it's set 60fps limit in MSI Afterburner and exactly in RivaTuner. Now when the game is loading everything is ok I mean fps 60 and cpu and gpu usage about 20-40%. Before, I notice about 900 fps (this is ridiculous) and permanent 100% cpu nad gpu usage. In game also it's much better. I was tried suggestion about limit fps using user.cfg file but it's not work when game is loading(!) and in game was still stuttering (but fps 60). 

Terrible lag/freeze/stuttering since 1.2 patch. Reminds me of Kashyyyk at launch. Game is pretty unplyable right now. Didn't have any problem before the patch.

I find the easiest and best fix it just to uninstall the game until EA and DICE can figure out how to not release bad shareware games.  ☹️  I have not played BF2 now for about a month and until they fix the issue I will not re-install it nor purchase another EA game.  Sorry EA/DICE, until you stop treating us as beta testers for your garbage releases I have better games to waste my free time on.

Don't get me wrong.  The game is amazing when it works and just makes it that more frustrating.  I'm not a fan of dropping $60+ on AAA titles these days only to find out that you have been given a broken product (or in this case a product that was working and then broken).  Can you imagine how much more frustration and hate there would be if people actually dropped cash on the game for loot boxes??  Wow ...

So, yes, I understand that gaming programmers in some companies are extreme overworked and I truly feel for them.  Management however needs to be taken out back to the woodshed.  Remember, we as consumers do have a voice though.  We can choose with our hard earned money whether or not we will support EA/DICE on these AAA, I mean FFF games when released (just noticed that SW BF1 is on sale for $6 now) and send a clear message that we will not stand being jerked around.  Forum posts are great for reaching out to each other (and people here have shared some completely amazing work-arounds :eahigh_file: ) but the reality and power to stopping this is within our wallets.

As I mentioned above, I will not re-install the game nor purchase anymore EA titles until they get their act together.  Dropping part of my paycheck on these people only to receive broken goods in return is irresponsible on their part and shows that they need to re-think their priorities.  Sorry EA, you have moved so far away from creating the great gaming experience you once had in favor for quick profits and exploiting amazing titles.
