Unable to Launch SWBF2

Ever since the latest patch I have been unable to start SWBF2.  I have the Epic Celebration version and have had zero issues until now.

I have tried repairing the game through Origin.

I have tried removing the files in the documents folder.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling.

I have updated my NVIDEA drivers.

I have tried rebooting my PC.

Still, when I click play, my friends report that I am playing the game for a second or two, then it quits automatically.  No black screen, no indication that something is wrong.  The game just doesn't load and I have the option to click the play button to try again.

Whatever you folks did in the last patch broke something because the game worked fine prior.  Please fix whatever you broke.  Thanks.

  • Quick Update (11/14/21):

Ever since I got the SWBF2 Celebration Edition on Epic the game worked fine up until a week ago.  The files were situated on my D drive where all my games are.

I used the Move Game feature on Origin (by right clicking the game in the Origin Library) and moved it to the empty Origin folder under C:/Program Files 86/Origin.  The game now launches.

I'm probably one of the least technical people on the planet so I can't explain why this worked...saw it mentioned on a separate forum so I gave it a shot.

Why would the update last week stop something from working on my D Drive but not the C Drive?  Perhaps the update deleted something on C/Program Files/Origin that was originally there?

I was prompted to update the game about a week ago, as were my friends.  I assumed it was a patch.

Ah, yes. There was a patch on 11/4 to help support latest Intel CPUs.

@EA_Atic - Bringing this issue to your attention. May be coincidence; may not.
