Unable to partner with friend

Summarize your bug My friend and I have side by side PS4s on separate TV's in the same room. We have always used them to play Battlefront 1 and 2 together. Tonight, we are not showing up as being online on each other's consoles. Once, I did show up on his console, but his invitation would not go through. We have restarted the consoles four or five times and even reset our modem. It is doing this on both Battlefront 1 and 2.

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Not sure. The friend and partnering system seems to be messed up.
What happens when the bug occurs? One or both of us does not show up as being among the other's online friends. If we do show up, the invites we send don't go thru. This is a new problem and very aggravating.
What do you expect to see? I want to be able to partner with my friend when we are online!
