@Edairman198526 The combination of these mechanics and problems literally rewards certain saber spammers.
Luke, Rey, and (temporarily) Dooku can just run up and spam with no consequence. They’ll clog up the stack and with high strike speed the rest of the saber characters don’t have a prayer of a timed counter strike.
Luke and Rey are especially rewarded because their strike lunge distance is disgusting so they can register from so far away. I mean, all you can do is laugh when you perform two dodges to put a good 20 feet of distance away and there’s a Rey just strike spam dancing at a distance from you and you take hit markers … yeah, good job DICE 😑
It’s funny because some of the late game logic changes were done so as to penalize players who just spam strikes yet the way the mechanics and bugs exist they’re actually rewarding this.
- 4 years ago@AnakinVader34 none of the heroes need tweaking, Leia didn't need thermal detonators, or a Yoda with two blocking abilities, anakin with 4 abilities (two which are OP as hell), and a Luke Skywalker that never tires.
Obi-Wan is probably the most balanced hero of all, but at the same time I bring the lightside heroes issues because all of their abilities are insta-kill, while Darkside takes 2 to 3 hits to kill the enemy.- 4 years ago
@Edairman198526 Ehhh @AnakinVader34 isn’t wrong. The saber tracking in the game, combined with the other mechanics, is bad and makes the hit detection worse than it would be. In a perfect world, yes, they need an adjustment IMO.
Kenobi is not as broken as Luke, Rey, or Han but he’s broken too. Kenobi already has high stamina and when paired with Perfect Defense & Safeguard star cards his stamina goes through the roof. Kenobi can basically become a stamina wall that no saber user can break. Combine that with the damage reduction and saber strike immunity he gets during Defensive Rush and what you have is a tank wall that can use DR to regen his stam if villains spam him then go back to hiding behind block. Only a Bosk, Iden, or Fett can break through that as they’re the only ones that can bypass blocks and deal damage.
Other characters, like Kylo, are only successful in the right hands because they’re so held back. Kylo’s strike speed and distance is only average, he has average health, & average mobility but his ability cast times are WAY too long and the AOE of Frenzy is way too small plus the Frenzy is poorly put together as is; it’s probably one of the worst abilities, just a tad above Lando’s smoke.
Every hero & villain character needs to be re evaluated and tweaked if there were to ever be balance.
- 4 years ago@VetteC5RX Well said. Vader just stupid OP as well imo, far better than Han, Luke or Rey. 1150 health in Focused Rage with Bonus Health + 25% DR with Furious Resilience = 1437.5 health.
Now THAT is ridiculous. And bear in mind if you get "Fuelling the Rage" you can have it active for 16 seconds whilst the ability cooldown is only 15 seconds. Waaaay too OP.
