Base Command (SWBF companion) broken

So, today I tried again to log in to companion on my IPhone 6, it still supports the app. But when i tried to log in, after entering my account data, the infinite load began. And only deleting app and downloading it again stopped the infinite load. Well, the reaction of this app changes from time to time. Maybe, that means something

The reaction time changing is normal, apps have different load times depending on when you load them and how long ago you played. Are you saying you were able to get the companion app working on an iPhone 6?

I have had no luck with either Android or my old desktop link (yeah, its pretty old). I find this a bit frustrating as in order to unlock the Twi'lek Rebel, you must achieve a goal in Base Command. 

Would be nice to have the desktop version up and going again, I rather enjoying it playing more than the game itself sometimes.

Hi, sorry for being late. Yes, on IPhone 6 (IOS 12) app is working, but has the same log in errors as the website.

Was able to install an older version of the Android edition using windows 11 native android support. Got it to run and successfully logged in, but I’m just met with an infinite loading screen.

This is likely due to the fact that EA discontinued the server that stored data for the game and transferred it back and forth between battlefront and the companion, the companion tries to load your game stats, but there’s nothing to pull from, so it loads forever. 

Really hope EA gives us a response soon. It’s been broken for almost 3 years now, and it started literally a week after we were told the app was staying up.

Same on old IOS version.

That’s a pity. Keeping the servers active will cost a pittance for EA. But they just forgot this app.

Obviously I know nothing about their finances, but deciding to disable the website while promising continued support for both apps was definitely an interesting move. It seems much easier to just pay the yearly server fee and have all of the traffic in one place that you can edit easily, compared to dealing with a constantly changing OS and more frequent update requirements. (Not that I wouldn’t love to have the app back) 😉

Yeah it sucks. Our only hope is that they have mercy and re-establish like they were originally planning to.

Sorry for all the tags, but I’ve gotten a bit of an update from EA and wanted to keep you all posted.

I contacted EA support today and got a very friendly response which is nice. They informed me that the team hasn’t received much in the way of information about the app, which probably means there are no intents to repair it, but they’re going to report the problem anyway just to see.

In the meantime, I’ve been experimenting with the app on older devices but haven’t had any success so far. Is there anyone here that has an old iOS or Android device that can still run it as intended?

@CaberahamI just tried it on bluestacks and the first time it gave me the new ea login screen then it went back to the previous screen and it does nothing when I click on it.... I tried opening it and now it just gives me infinite loading screen.

Yeah same thing here. Blue stacks is designed to work on the newest version of android so it works the same as using a brand new phone afaik.

@Caberaham Thank you for the tag! Encouraging that does sound!! My previous phone was iPhone 7, now iPhone 13, and as I remember from my first post, the issue was not the device but the OS. If I was knowledgable on how to revert to older OS, I definitely would have tried it. Although, I believe once updated to latest iOS, it is unable to be reverted. So, I am sorry but I am unable to test it, unless I can dig-out my iPhone 3 🤔 I'll keep you posted. 

Hey! I have an old ipad, and it doesnt let me log in. 

I've opened so many tickets on this game trying to get them to fix it, but they really don't care.  I just loved playing it every morning with my coffee.  They could have put a banner ad at the top and bottom of the page and I'd still play the thing. 

I’ve got good news and bad news.

Good news is I’ve been able to log in to the website https://api.battlefront.dice.se

and play base command. It still cycles through the daily challenges and everything. I’ve also gotten all of the icons to load so it looks really nice (see attachments)

The bad news is nothing you do in the game shows up in Star Wars battlefront and vice-versa. So credits earned don’t sync, and neither does star cards and the like. The only thing that does is friends.

The login is still very glitchy, but I’ve had best success doing it on mobile browsers (mainly Firefox) compared to desktop. I’ve also found it more reliable when I log in with steam rather than EA (though obviously this isn’t possible for everyone.)

@EA_Atic  @EA_Blueberry Would you consider putting in a word for us about fixing the website? (Linked above) I know so many people who actually liked playing it more than the actual game! I’ve looked at it with chrome and Firefox dev tools and it appears to be just a couple of very small compatibility issues with an older style of cookie being used to pull info that’s causing glitches. Plus it’s much easier to maintain than a mobile app.

@Player_6vmh4wht @smes2015 @BCeltics_17 @TracerXZX You guys should try it out on mobile and let me know how to goes! I’ve also had success with internet explorer mode on edge but it’s a lot less consistent so I wouldn’t recommend that.

@smes2015Chrome it took a couple of tries, Firefox was first try. Let me clear my data and see if I can log in through origin instead of steam.
