Battlefront offline gameplay / local split screen require internet?

My daughter and I played a lot of the local Tattooine coop split screen mission on our Xbox One.  We look forward to the full game having additional levels to split screen.  My concern originated from our attempt to play after the game left Beta.  I noticed to even attempt to play what I would consider "offline", still required an EA Server connection and due to servers being closed we were unable to play "offline".

Is this going to be necessary in the future?  To always be logged in to EA Servers to even play a local game?  Or was that simply an issue of the Beta being completed and them shutting every one out?

What if your internet was out for a period of time?  Or I take my XBox on deployment?  Would I not be able to even play "offline"?  Will Battlefront require a constant connection to EA Servers?

Thank you for any info.

@orionrepla you will be able to play Star Wars: Battlefront's coop-missions in offline split-screen mode together with your daughter on your Xbox One with the release of the full game. All Missions will support offline mode, it was just not supported for this Beta.

    Cheers
