DualSense controller with Star Wars Squadrons

I have setup my dual sense controller in steam, and it works on other games, however when I use Star Wars Squadrons, the controller is recognised as a flight stick instead of a regular controller. Has anyone else run into this issue?

I used these instructions to set up the controller: https://www.pcgamer.com/ps5-dualsense-controller-on-pc/

Have you been able to use the dualsense controller in SWS?

  • @jgrohn Have you tried DS4windows? The controller will show up as an Xbox-controller but it will work just as well.

I just did and it makes it worse, because then the game assigns two inputs (flight sticks AND xbox controller) to each buttons. Meaning if I press Right Trigger, it both fires lasers AND ping target/open comm menu

But without DS4Windows, I can't even just bite the bullet and decide to simply remap the FlightStick buttons configuration because changing the button mapping contradicts other button mapping and now I'm stuck in the "Assign button" menu because my button to confirm/save/cancel gets overlapped.

That means the game is unplayable, and not in an hyperbolic kinda way, it is literally unplayable with DualSense on PC.

    What a mess.
