EA pre-ordered Amazon disc FAIL on PS4 - Star Wars Battlefront / Need for Speed

Install problems with EA game discs for the PS4 pre-ordered on Amazon - Star Wars Battlefront and Need for Speed

Okay EA and Amazon - what is the deal ?

For the second time in two weeks your EA game discs that I pre-ordered on Amazon have FAILed to install on my Playstation 4.

You can read about the first incident with Need for Speed on this thread here -

http://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/Game-won-t-install-on-Playstation-4-Data-corruption-error-msg/m-p/4925910/

And now, here it is the day that Star Wars Battlefront arrives, and I'm getting set up to play online with my nephew from back east when - FAIL! SW Battlefront won't install and is recommending cleaning the brand new disc (no error codes mind you). The only option available is to close application and eject the disc. Which I do, and very carefully clean the disc and try again. FAIL! same thing, game quits, disc is ejected, carefully cleaned and then I decide to test a few things out.

CONCLUSION - IT IS NOT the DISC DRIVE on the PS4 -

After Star Wars Battefront continued to fail over and over regardless of configuration (i.e. before / after the 1.02 update file installed, etc..), I decided to test the disc drive on the PlayStatiob 4 itself. Including testing the installs on other new games I still had in shrink wrap before today. Here are the results:

Drive Club - disc game - game loaded and played one track and exit without any issues.

The Last of Us REMASTERED - disc game - first time installed without any issues. Update file subsequently installed and game started without issue.

Grand Theft Auto V REMASTERED - disc game - first time installed without any issues (and the GTAV installation is huge / time consuming!). Update file subsequently installed and game started without issue.

After these two games were able to be installed and start up without issue, I decided to try Star Wars Battlefront again. FAIL! Same installation problem persists (this time I noticed that the fail occurred during the third music track played on the 'vader' loading screen before hearing disc drive reading sounds and then the FAIL message). I then try a third new game, fresh out of shrink wrap. first time install...

Alien: Isolation - disc game - first time installed without any issues. Update file subsequently installed and game started without issue.

So that's 3 disc based, brand new games, from 3 different manufacturers, all install successfully on my PS4 ,

-  2 brand new pre-ordered from Amazon disc based games from EA and both of them FAIL to INSTALL.

Please EA ... Sony... somebody - I'm dying over here !! What am I supposed to do (besides sending the game back for a refund)

I'm experiencing the same problems with Star Wars Battlefront. I purchase mine from Gamestop, and as it loads it pops up a screen saying the disc is dirty and needs to be cleaned and then eject the disc. I have had no troubles with any other game other than Star Wars Battlefront. I would like advice on how to fix or resolution in general
  • So this is happening to me to on star wars battlefront 2 I had got a game from the redox and every time it fails to copy over the application to the ps4 the updates download and I thought maybe those needed to download first so I let them and then they say ready to install but when I try to start up the game the game won't copy the application past 371.4 mb out of 8.540 gb I have enough space my ps4 says there is over 60 gb of space so thats not the problem and other games install and after it doesn't copy it closes the application and puts a pause on it and won't let me open the game until I take it out and back in the ps4

I also am having issues downloading battlefront 2. I bought the game for my son on Christmas. Put the disc in and it began downloading. After a minute or two of downloading it pauses and will not resume. So I though it was a system storage issue. So I deleted some games he no longer plays, then tried downloading again. Same thing happened again. So I contacted ea via online help, which was of no help. They just sent some link via email and the info did not do a thing in helping me fix the problem. So I am going to return the disk and get another. Hopefully it works. EA really needs to improve their customer support, like maybe giving a phone number to call to talk to someone instead of this online chat thing they do. Whatever happened to quality customer service. Messaging, chatting, and email is impersonal and often ineffective.
