Email account no longer exists and can't gain access due to this

I have changed my email account a while ago and can no longer access my original account. I have been asked for credit card details for a card that expired years ago to verify who I am. How do I gain access to my account? I have a number of games I can no longer play. Why is it so hard to talk to a real person and get this sorted?

    I’m sorry to hear that you’re having trouble with your account. I understand that you currently don’t have access to the email associated with your profile. 

    In this case, the only way to make changes is to verify your ownership of the account through our support team.

Remember that our support team can only assist with changes once they have successfully verified your ownership for security purposes.
