Graphics crash on PC

So far, for too many Radeon models, the AMD drivers referred to as "Crimson" have proved incompatible in this game.  You probably need to roll back to older drivers that are more usable.

Already tried with the old ATI Radeon 15.11

Ill try with the ATI Radeon 15.7 and see how it goes.

Good Luck.  Since it's an on-going problem, others have written to say which drivers they had success with.  Use the forum's Search to look for solved message threads with your subject, expanded to include AMD as the GPU.

I've got the exact same CPU and Graphics card in my gaming cube but am running windows 7 with crimson 15.12.

I play the game at default "medium" settings at 1920x1080 resolution.

Working perfectly for me.

If you have overclocked your graphics card I suggest you restore it to stock clocks and voltages.

Are you only experiencing graphics problems in battlefront or other games as well?

Crimson drivers are incompatible? No. That's not a thing. The Crimson drivers are fully "compatible" with the game and the issues people are having with Battlefront has not changed since the Crimson drivers came out.

As for the crashing, you might want to look in the Windows Eventviewer to see info reguarding the crashes. Also, a clean reinstall of the new 16.1 Crimson driver might be a good idea. And by clean reinstall I mean at least a complete uninstall of all AMD software, reboot into safe mode, use Display Driver Uninstaller to delete everything, reboot, install 16.1.

I havent OC'ed the GPU nor the CPU and the graphics problems only appear with BF. I've been playing fallout 4, GTA V and other games (Simcity, Starcraft 2) ultra graphics without any problems at all.

@Carbonic: Already tried that, with various versions of AMD drivers, including the last release with no joy.

That's very strange if the problems only appear in Battlefront.

No chance you've got specific game profiles set, or any screen-overlay type programs, recorders, etc?

I'd turn them off and try again.

I don't suppose there's any error messages you get? just a red screen and reboot?

Stupid question. What size Power supply do you have?

Also, does the game also crash if you run it in windowed mode?

Havent got any profiles set that I know of. Currenly running on background logitech gaming for keyboard and mouse, tuneup, icloud services, avira, samsung magician for SSD drive and dropbox.

The error is basically a grey screen and the system becomes irresponsive, only rebootable by reset button on the cpu case. (Something like this)

the CPU is a Corsair VS650 650W.

Tried playing fullscreen, windowed borderless and windowed, all cases with same result.

I'm honestly clueless as to what could be causing this then. Unless you have a REALLY specific hardware failure that only battlefront can bring out.

My MSI R9-270X 2G Card was running perfectly on my corsair VS450 power supply when I gave it a quick match in Battlefront at ultra+TAA 1600x900  earlier.

Allow me to get you a screenshot of my Crimson settings so you can copy them to your own. ( I will have to do this tomorrow GMT+2 as I have left this gaming box of mine at the office.)

Until then, I suggest, if your card has the dual-bios switch (as mine does), try turn off your pc, flip the switch on your GPU, then boot up and try to play on the secondary bios.

The only other thing I can think of right now is to check what happens in windows event viewer at the time your computer crashes.

 I do so many of these forums for GPU help, I forget what I've asked you.

Could you please download FURMARK and run a GPU stress test (not a benchmark) and let it run for 10 or so minutes.

(fullscreen, 8x MSAA, whatever your native resolution is)

Could you then tell us what your maximum temperature was when running this?

Just realized this could be an overheat if it dies like this after 20 minutes of gaming.

Downloading FUMARK and will pass the stress test as soon as it finishes. I will post the results in a while. 

The game crashes sometimes after 15minutes, sometimes (like 30 minutes ago) after just 5 minutes of playing.

I've though about updating the GPUs BIOS, any thoughts?
