Totally agree. I don’t understand why EA likes to make those stubborn claims before launching a game, to the extent of damaging its reputation.
SW Battlefront 2 “we will have microtransactions regardless !”. Uproar and low initial sales. Get rid of microtransactions but damage is done.
SW Squadrons “we will not have DLC expansions”. Fine enough if the game is not a success. But if the game will be a success, then why they should say something like that even before launch ?!? It can just damage them.
Why they can’t simply say “it is a 40$ game so no free DLC, we will consider paid DLC or expansions depending on demand” ? It is 2020, an electronic entartainment company should be able to show flexibility to market demand.
And if they meant it since the start (no FREE DLC but maybe paid DLC or expansions) then they did really a poor job communicating it.
