Jedi fallen order shuts down computer on launch

When launching the game, my pc just shuts off. This has never happened to me before.

Only when running this game this specific problem happens and I have played much more intensive games than this.

ALSO EA SUPPORT ONLY TAKES CALLS FOR CANDA AND UNITED STATES and there is no other option for support. WHY? (I've tried another browser besides chrome

Ryzen 5 2600x

Rx 590

16gb ram

650W psu

  • @EA_Leeuw  ok i dont know what changed but here is what i did..

    1. i unplugged everything removed ssd,and gpu,ram to prep the motherboard for removal then after seeing that its a odd shape i left the motherboard in the same case.

    2. plugged everything back in the way it was

    3. after looking at other motherboards to replace this one so i can do a case swap .. then i got curious do the same steps i did before and launched swfjo and NO crash made it to the main menu

so inconclusion the crashing is fixed .

i wanna thank you for your time

@Buzz-Ba1t, I believe that your system specs are kinda in between minimum / recommend, so it should be able to run the game.

The reason I asked if it is possible that you maybe overclocked your system, was because I noticed a good few errors in the DxDiag that pointed towards a possible (faulty) overclock.

When the game shuts off your PC, does it actively BSOD with an error message?

Regarding the PSU: a PSU that is capable of delivering more power than the combined recommended total of the PC components is always better. If you think your PSU is the cause of the issue, too low watt for example, then this is something you need to investigate.
  • @EA_Leeuw   ok good it sounds like my pc specs are in the low mid - mid range ..

now regarding the overclocking how can i tell if my cpu,gpu and ram is overclocked i have AMD software adrenaline is there a setting in there i can lower or something ..

when launching the splash logo will show of swfjo for a few seconds then when it transitions to the black loading screen thats when the pc will power off as if i unplugged it then to turn the pc back on i do have to unplug to reset something cuz the pc does not respond to pushing power to turn it on or hold it for 10 sec to force it to reboot nothing till i unplug an re-plug it in.

no bsod error, as bad as you dont want see it in most cases i wouldnt mind seeing one just to get a code pointing to what maybe going on

i brought up the psu to see if (under power) can cause a full shutdown , im just trying to think of things i can rule out by process of elimination and focus on the more likely causes

@Buzz-Ba1t, yeah I personally think the PSU is quite low in wattage. You can try a site like this to calculate the PSU power that your system needs at minimum: https://outervision.com/power-supply-calculator.

You can indeed overclock your system with AMD Adrenalin. I am not sure how, I am using Nvidia myself, so I can't tell you where you can find these options.

You can check via your BIOS if you have enabled XMP.

    Hey @Buzz-Ba1t,

I am glad to read that you no longer crash.

So what exactly did you change or did you see in your PC? That something had a weird shape?

  • @EA_Leeuw  it was the motherboard,.  instead of a normal square my hp pavilion motherboard is not square as you can see in the pic i provided the right side would be the front of the case so you can understand the orientation.. with that in mind just by looking at the medium case i was going to use didn't look like it would fit.. so i put it all back together in the hp pavilion case .

---- so there for im not sure if ----

    1. the gpu was seated all the way the first time .

    2. the 2 sticks of memory full seated .. ( meaning its possible to get a click to indicate that it locked and seated but one of them could have been just a hair off )

    3. any of the power cords or cables could have been wiggled loose  on the motherboard side and the ssd, optical drive...

that is all i touched in my case for swfjo to not shut my pc down..

i hope this can help anyone having the same issue check all your wire connections,. something may not be fully seated
