Jedi Fallen Order train chase bug

I am currently stuck in the train chase due to a bug.

Right after a new ship intervenes and destroys part of the train, I am supposed to swing out on a pipe and climb up two falling grates. The grates however fall the instant I swing out. There is no way for me to climb them. I have watched about a dozen lets plays of this scene and know for a fact that the grates do not fall that fast in regular gameplay. I have also found similiar complaints in past threads, but none of them seemed to have solved the issue. Additionally, once I inevitably fall with the grate, I don't die, I end up in a weird almost all black interior room of the train. I cannot properly move and have to repeadetly try and jump to my death (through a wall nonetheless) in order to start another attempt. I am pretty sure that this is not part of the regular game play.

I have already tried to exit the game multiple times, tried to play the part in question over and over again for more than an hour (no change), reinstalled both the ea app and the game and pressed the F12 key (which was recommended in a very old question regarding the same issue). However so far, nothing has helped.

I would really like to play more of this game than the first 15 minutes and hope someone can help me get rid off the bug.
