I totally agree with you - It was disheartening to see that caveat about using a controller. I refuse to use one!
Key bindings were kept to be mostly consistent with Star Wars Battlefront II and other popular shooters.
Here are some modifications I made:
1 2 3 are a TERRIBLE assignment for force powers. I set them so they're all controlled with the same finger.
T = Slow (slow time)
G = Push
V = Pull
I rebound single bladed lightsaber to L CTRL b/c it's easy to reach, but it's out of the way. I left double at C b/c I don't use it as much
Windows key - I often bump this during boss fights, so I downloaded a freeware app to disable it.
When you're using mouse and keyboard, you have to have one specifically for gaming. The difference is your typical keyboard will transmit only a certain number of keys at a time, it will only pick up one or two keys at a time. When you're doing lots of movements with WASD & Shifts etc this makes a difference. You might need one specifically for gaming. I think the same can be true of mice - mine seems to work fine, in fact I couldn't imagine how it would work using a controller, it can't be more intuitive than a mouse. I haven't had any trouble with these controls except for the bindings, and I wish there were separate keys for rolling and evading. Also, I have to intentionally skip Switch Attack because it activates CONSTANTLY during fights.
