PLEASE FIX!!!!! I just dropped $75 on a freaking game I cant even play!!!!! How did you guys not have a single player test legacy controls before the launch?
- Anonymous10 years ago
For EA developers: Tried lots of things to make look speed (sensitivity) improve when selecting legacy sticks. Simple way to think about it is that when you select legacy, the sensitivity behaves like the value has been divided by 10 (20 acts like 2 and 100 acts like 10)....no real difference and painfully slow. I did a test and set sensitivity to 50, then went to solo mission and timed a turn/look to the right. It takes about 12 seconds for every 90 degrees of rotation or about 50 seconds to complete a 360 turn. I rented the game, could not play it, and will hopefully see some resolution to the issue posted before I try to rent again or buy. Should be a simple fix!

Thank you for replying. Its very encouraging to know that your team is aware of the issue with the legacy controlls and you are working to resolve it. I look foward to palying SWBF as soon as it is fixed.
- Anonymous10 years agoAny update? This should be an easy fix and really is unbelievable the game rolled out like this. Please give another update.
- Anonymous10 years ago
I know this is probably low on the priority list...But can you please give us an update? Just a simple ETA or that I am not a complete idiot for wasting $75!
- Anonymous10 years ago
Please provide an update. The forums have over 1400 views regarding this issue and no moderator response. Just want to enjoy the game that we purchased and the lack of response in the forums, twitter, and here make us helpless. You're our only hope.

- Anonymous10 years agoHow long before we can play this game we've waited for for ever
- Anonymous10 years ago
Still no fix?
Guess I'm not playing this weekend.
- Anonymous10 years ago
Any idea how much longer? I've talked myself into waiting until this weekend to return it...
- 10 years agoIt's been about ten days since this response posted and with this being a significant (showstopping) issue, has there been any updates from the Battlefront team on when the patch will be?
- 10 years agoAccording to a Moderator of this page, any updates on this situation will be posted to this thread.
It is hard to imagine reasons as to why this is taking so long. In my own opinion, a fix has been found but will be released later, in a large, generalized patch to Battlefront. Or its still on the list of things that require attention. It seems to me to be an easy fix, and if this is true, it rules out incompetence as a possible reason why its taking so long.- 10 years agoIf the developers of the app "Xbox Accessories" (that's free on Xbox Live) add thumbstick mapping to the app, anyone with any controller could play any game with any type of controls they want. Right now, that app does not support thumbstick mapping. Go to Xbox Uservoice, and search for "Legacy thumbsticks." You'll find posts asking these developers to include thumbstick mapping in their app.
- Anonymous10 years ago@deusdexdubya which number are you calling? I'd love to bug them daily.
- 10 years agoI wish there were better transparency with this system DICE/EA has here, this website and its purpose. By transparency I mean transparency in the same way a package sent in the mail usually has tracking that is viewable in some format in the internet, so that the sender and the receiver may rest assured as to exactly what's going on with the package being sent through the mail. The almost complete lack of the 'look' function while in Legacy controls is a HUGE and dealbreaking problem for Legacy stick users in Battlefront. Yet, while I appreciate that there has been two comments from an employee at DICE about this problem, to this thread, it has been weeks now since the game's release, and even longer than that for those were able to get it before the official release in stores.
I'm flabbergasted at the reaction time of the people whose responsibility as DICE employees is to fix problems exactly like this one. I've played a popular game on the PC called "League of Legends." The developers of this game pay a great deal of attention to the players of their game. These developers call their company "Riot Games." If this were a game made by Riot Games, this problem would have been found during the beta, and patched/hotfixed IMMEDIATELY as soon as humanly possible. I've been sitting here now for days and weeks checking back on this forum and in the game itself to see if there has been any change or update on the current state of affairs, at all.
If we (players) knew what goes on at DICE, we would then be able to rationalize and understand why this problem happened, and why its taking so very long.
For myself, this bug started out as a major inconvenience. That is me being generous, or putting it lightly. I can't use the default thumbstick setting anywhere nearly as proficiently as I can use Legacy controls. Every time I have tried in the past with other games, I have ended being frustrated and exasperated, because I can't even walk or look at things without seeming like my character has a physical and mental deficiency.
The past history of awesome games that lack Legacy controls has profoundly exacerbated this particular issue with this game, and this is becoming outrageous in my view as a result.
