Lenovo 780 laptop keeps saying wrong video drivers and won't use nvidia gpu

My buddy is running a Lenovo 780 laptop with an integrated intel 4000 gpu and a nvidia 635 gpu on windows 8.1 with 8gb of ram. All drivers are up to date as of 10/08/2015. For some reason battlefronts keeps trying to use the intel card. I've had him change the settings in Nvidia control panel to use the nvida card which now allows the game to load to the start up screen but then the game freezes and won't let him press enter to continue. When he tried to start the game he gets the error about having the wrong intel video drivers, which are actually the right drivers, when he clicks ok to run anyway the game loads but like I said it freezes when it asks you to press enter.

I've tried everything I can think of to get his game running and nothing seems to work. Any other games he tries to play uses the nvidia card so, in other words, I need some help figuring this out.

@HnyBear69 would it be possible to get the exact system specs of the Lenovo laptop via the Dxdiag report:

    1. Hold down the Windows key and press R on your keyboard.
    2. In the Run box that appears type "dxdiag" without the quotes and press OK.
    3. If you get a box asking to check if your drivers are digitally signed choose Yes.
    4. In the new window that appears, give the program a few seconds to complete it's processing (bar in the bottom left) then click 'Save All Information...' in the bottom right.
    5. Save the text file somewhere easily accessible, I'd recommend your desktop!
    6. Double click the text file to open it, press CTRL + A to select all of the text then CTRL + C to copy.
    7. Go to http://pastebin.com, and use CTRL + V to paste the data into the webpage and click submit
    8. Copy the link and paste it here in the thread!

    Cheers

  • Can you disable the integrated graphics processor entirely from the BIOS?

  • No, you can't. You can only turn of the switchable video card meaning the nvidia, and force it to only use the intel, which is stupid.
