Lock game (all players) to same HUD settings?

Hi there!

I'm stoked to see there is an "instruments only" HUD option (and instruments only + no-reticle) for immersion. Of course, in multiplayer someone running instruments-only will be playing at a pretty sizeable disadvantage in terms of target tracking and such. Will it be possible to have a game with HUD settings locked for all players in the game? So that everyone is playing with instruments-only if that is the style of play a certain number of players wants to go with.

I certainly imagine myself in a group that would go that route, but if there isn't the lobby-locking then I'm likely to give up and turn back on the rich HUD so as not to let my team down. ;-) It's similar to a mechanic GTA Online has with aim-assist: if you start or join and empty a lobby with aim-assist off, then it only admits players who also have it turned off. That way you aren't stuck at a massive disadvantage just for playing in a more immersive mode.

Congrats on what appears to be a good pre-launch media bump!

  • For sure, it could always allow you to disadvantage yourself more (i.e. someone playing in a full-HUD game could play with instruments-only). Heck if you're playing with less-experienced friends, that might be a convenient way to handicap yourself. But mainly I want a way to make it possible for those who want to go instruments-only to find a fair fight, against others who also are instruments-only.

@SuperSmash88 They could add a hardcore mode/server, i'm sure there are plenty of flight pros among us that would enjoy the challenge.
  • Yep, that would work; alternatively, assuming there is enough demand, might as well keep it as part of standard matchmaking, but just as a filtered setting or some such.
