In the movies the X-Wing is capable of going much faster than most games tend to implement. The trench run they go full throttle, with the help from their Astro droids (well..at least Luke anyway.) It would be nice to have that option, if the maps were big enough to warrant it.
In X-Wing when doing the trench run your speed increases 125% (iirc) so they tried to stay true to the movie in that regard. Was always fun to use a trainer to use that speed cheat on the regular missions and fly like a maniac.
