PC - pixel lines instead of snow and fire particles

Hello I would like to report a problem. As you can see in screenshots, I have a problem with snow particles being rendered as ugly pixel lines. Not only snow, but also fire on a new Endor map and in DLC Sullust maps. I tried to reinstall graphic drivers even whole windows. I tried every graphic settings and I figured it out it is antialiasing setting. I am using TXAA which is great for me but with this settings particles looks like in a screenshot It looks better in screenshot because of some jpeg compression but it looks rough, sharp pixelated in game - terrible (just look at the screenshot with TIE, that is a good example of how it looks ingame) I dont have screenshots of fire but it looks the same. Sparks from fire in Endor and on Sullust looks pixelated as well.

When I change it to FXAA it looks normal again, no ugly pixel edged but nice smooth snowstorm and fire. But I dont want to use FXAA is dont work very well, TXAA is more effective. Please can you tell me how to have nice snow with TXAA antialiasing? Is it problem with my computer or is it a problem in a game? If it is problem in game please look into it, and try to fix it because now I just cant play this maps becasue it just looks horrible and I dont enjoy it (even when maps are great) Please contact me if you need more information I will gladly answer anything if it helps to solve my problem.

My spec: Windows 10, Intel core i5-4670, 8 GB RAM, nvidia geforce GTX 760 and sorry for my bad english

@Matt7993 I suspect that this is unavaoidable with TXAA with your setup. I think having a higher framerate would help, but while the card you're using is rather solid, it's not high-end.

I don't know much about AA (i usually just set it to the first-highest above off, my old eyes can't tell the difference), but I believe that you need a high, solid framerate to get the most out of TXAA.

  • Hello thanks for your reply 🙂 It is difficult for me to accpet that it is framerate problem. TAA works great on any other object, just particles are not aliased. Do you think if I updage my hardware and monitor it will work fine? Well I dont know really. If you are right there is nothing I can do about it now, game itself cost me aroun 100 € so no money to spare 🙂 But I still think it should be something else ...

Honestly I'm not an expert on AA, I don't know much past the basics so I don't want to give any recommendations.

I'd be happy if anyone with more comprehensive knowledge/familiarity could chime in, though.
